I just kinda bought an Akai HX3 with a handful of tapes for £35. When I say “kinda”, I mean I bought it for a mate. He rang me just as I was squeezing my way past people on a packed train and asked me if I could snap it up for him. The train Wi-Fi was bloody useless but I grabbed it for him.
It will be arriving later in the week and he will probably collect next week.

Got the wardrobe today and I’ve put all the fixings in place, ready to assemble. Got all the drawers built etc too. Just a case of about 10 mins assembly tomorrow, and nailing the back on. It had some awful reviews and quality control might well be variable, but mine is absolutely perfect. It’s stupidly well made for the money and I’m really happy with it. I’m a picky sort, so if anything was worth complaining about, I’d say. I’d expected it to be a bit crap, but it was cheap and it’s just a wardrobe. I wanted a certain look and it fitted the bill. I got a £50 discount offer so it was only £270 delivered. I’m changing the handles to brushed nickel but other than that, it’s ideal. online spinner 1 4

Moaners will be those that expect a £1,000 wardrobe for £250.

The instructions are as good and as clear as any I have come across, and yet they git loads of flak too. Lots of complaints about putting it together and it not aligning properly, but I’d bet most of those would be folk not ensuring it’s square before nailing the back on.
I’d expected a poor-man’s ikea, but I’d say it’s better than that tbh.

HOW MUCH? Now, I can say that after what I've just bought! These are hens teeth, but I found in Germany a half-inch mounting bracket for the B&O MMC 20 series of cartridges. I've already got one for my MMC20CL but they're a bit fragile and I didn't want to feck it up. The one I've just bought will be home to an MMC20EN or E which I'd like to use in the Garrards which can track to 1.25g and definitely 1.5g when serviced... We're mad, ain't we...

Yeah we all have pretty illogical senses of value when you look closely. I spend £150-£200 a throw on model aeroplanes, but when I bought that wardrobe at £270 it felt like a “big” purchase.
I won’t spend over a fiver on a T-Shirt or more than about £15 on a pair of trousers. As for buying drinks in a bar: No way. It’s a total rip off. If I wanted to drink, I’d expect to be paying less for a drink when I have to share a space with strangers rather than enjoy it in my own home.

Im same when we go shopping & spend £100 i feel sick but wouldnt think twice about spending it on gear lol. ffk westie you could be my twin with the clothes thing.

Buying from Germany is often a safer bet than the UK. Germans tend to have standards
