Any idea how different the Audio Note decks are in terms of 'gearing' of motor to inner hub? Just a thought...

These SYSTEMDEK have to be precision set up & a real quality belt or they are a nightmare. I have been considering one of two things. Getting shut or fitting a DC Motor. See how this belts goes as i refuse to have any hassle in my life where Hi-Fi is concerned.

Cheap thin belts just aint working & thats what most of them are. I refit the original belt & i dont have any problem apart from its being a bit hard being old, Fit a cheapo thin belt & i cant get it to stay on. So im hoping the one i bought yesterday is as thick as the original.
Fit a DC motor & i would never ave any problems no matter how cheap the belt be. But the cost is just silly pants. You do a search on for SYSTEMDEK belt problems, the forums will be full of the same problem with the belt coming off at 45rpm etc. You then get know it all's that that think they know the cure going onto suspension is out of line Bollox. My suspension is set up perfectly, a perfect 5mm distance between the plinth & underside of the platter, set by tiny 5mm acrylic blocks under each adjustment area.. STD used to supply an Acrylic block to set up suspension, where i got the idea from years ago.. The Motor tilt is perfect but still comes off cos its the cheap shit belt. People that say they done it might have done it for 33rpm, but as soon as they switch pulley steps off it will come again unless they have a good belt.
Proof is in the pudding, the old belts stays on.

Silly question - how close to a Thorens belt is the Systemdek one?
Systemdek do still exist, run by Peter's son I believe and selling male jewellery decks today. Can they still help supply or source one?
I wonder if Wm Thakker in Germany might be able to help given the dimensions? The Thakker Thorens belt is 75% the cost of an official one and identical in every way and they also do Dual and Garrard belts too.

The Analogue Seduction belts appear to be genuine new belts or NOS. Problem is any TT belt is not cheap these days.

Let me just see what this last one ive bought is like, It looks as thick as the original. £40 for a belt is silly, if this one is ok ill buy another as a spare.
Dave same with the THORENS belts, a lot of cheap ones about tat are a lot thinner than the original, The only difference with the Thorens is it has a lot deeper Sub Platter so is not prone to the belt coming off if things are a fraction out as is the case with these decks. Set this suspension more than 5mm & it goes tits up.
