I might be considered ignorant, but I’m not really interested in how stuff was cut. I’m only really interested in whether or not I enjoy the results. I get the fact that a bad pressing can ruin good music, but I leave that to the artists and record company, just like I do the mixing, If I don’t like the end result, I don’t buy or don’t keep.
Anyway, back to Marley: Was his music (and by this I mean the recording and mixing) worth the effort of the half speed mastering? I’ve never heard any of his recordings played back, so I don’t know if they sounded like they were recorded down a toilet, were pretty good or just ordinary.

IT'S THE SAME WITH ANYTHING THAT PEOPLE ARE OBSESSED WITH. SAME WITH FANS OF BANDS THEY HAVE A VESTED INTEREST IN BAND MEMBERS PRIVATE LIVE WHICH I FIND VERY VERY ODD IF NOT WORRYING. NEWS FLASH BOZOS ITS A JOB THEY DO. THEY PERFORM & SELL MUSIC, YOU BUY END OF.
LET THE FUCKING PEOPLE DO THEIR JOB, YOU JUST BUY THE FINAL PRODUCT AND ENJOY IT I SAY.
RE:SPECS. ONLY A VERY FEW SPECS THAT THE PUNTER NEEDS TO KNOW ABOUT & I MEAN VERY FEW.

Knowing where and who cut a record plus where it was pressed can save you buying something that may well disappoint. Same as the producer credits. Of course a must have piece of music might override other considerations.

PEOPLE TAKE THIS WHOLE HOBBY WAY TOO SERIOUSLY, I MEAN IN EVERY SINGLE RESPECT. I KNOW IM GUILY AS SIN FOR IT BUT AT THE END OF THE DAY, ITS A MUGS GAME & LIFE IS TOO SHORT.
CHANGING EXPENSIVE HI-FI WHEN SOMETHING NEW FANGLED COMES ALONG, CHANGING A LP PRESSING FOR ANOTHER WHEN REMASTERED & ON & ON ITS UTTER MENTAL.
