Yep. Never ever get released again so they go ruin it buy putting it out on shite coloured vinyl. i give up i truly do. You have to accept vinyl is a fad, nothing else. if it were not they would'nt keep doing this shite. Ok for teenagers that think its cool to have coloured vinyl cos it's cool. However the real bottom of the barrel are the multi coloured/speckle issues, they are a total joke beyond all belief. Quite clearly using up bits of coloured vinyl pellets of what's left in the bucket. I call em' waste not want not editions LOL
I don't have any coloured vinyl now. Just two GONG releases on clear vinyl. Clear Vinyl is technically ok being no colour pigment in the vinyl but i still can't accept it never mind hard to use. They will ofc be gone as soon as black vinyl surfaces.

I put up with it as there is often no choice. Believe me there are collectors on Hoffman that lap these coloured editions up that are old enough to know better. Sometimes there is money in it. There was a particular coloured limited edition of MCCartney III, only from his website, that instantly went to $1000's of dollars. Beatles completist and Youtuber Mazzy sold his as he realised no sense in keeping that siting on a shelf and presumably it financed some of his massive record buying. There are people who buy these as they must have every variant of a title by their favourite artist. It means the labels can sell multiple copies to the same buyers. There should be more releases of these rare and obscure titles. Someone at UME should step up on this and do something similar to the Jazz Tone Poet / Acoustic Sounds reissues with rock and prog.

The label 'Gonzo Distribution' makes me suspicious that this may not be an official release. There is a Music On Vinyl single disc for £22.

Vinyls a cumming but why only four out of the eight LP's or it it gonna be the same old half a job. LP's might be December at a guess. www.loudersound.com/news/van-der-graaf-generator-20-disc-box-set-for-septemberIf i remember 'Pawn Hearts' was originally gonna be a double album in the vein of Pink Floyd 'Ummagumma' layout Live & studio. This sounds good, bit toppy maybe.. very different from the LP. Trident studios were way more advanced than Abbey Road. Van Der Graaf 'Least We can do' track "After the Flood" used the brand new installed 16 Track multi track machine back then

It's just a redo on coloured vinyl of the remasters from a few years ago. Agree about the first 4 albums plus I also like 'Jazz' and 'Innuendo'. Most of their 80s output is turgid which is the stuff that seems to get played and people are now more familiar with other than Bohemian Rhapsody. Why did 70s big artists produce such crap music in the 80s? To think that box costs more than 2 MFSL one Step 45 rpm sets - and all digitally remastered! Not a good way to throw nearly £400.

You now see why i always used to pigeon hole long running bands into a certain time scale, thats because as you say they made nothing but shite at a certain point. It's so very easy to judge a band by a rubbish period. Queen were a very good band in the early days as were the live shows. But it goes without saying that the long running band hey days were the early days usually the first few years.
