ALAN RENAUD 2 lps from Triangle's guitarist. The first "same" is less heavy, mainly instrumental jazzrock, but there is a vocal ballady thing. Coverart shows 3 couples lustily going at the houghmagandy whilst a great lizard-thing smiles aquiescently.
PATRICE MEYER "Dromedaire Viennoise" guitarists 2nd lp with Hugh Hopper, Didier Malherbe and Pip Pyle. As you would expect -Canterbury.
ALPHA RALPHA "same" for the longest time I thought them Quebecois. Band founded by member of Malincorne(Alvarez-Pereyre, he had 2 lps in the 80s. Anyone heard the 2nd ,"Melange Latin" which is instrumental/tropical?) but this is fusion with members of Tiaphong and Francis Breant (Nemo). Like first Breant lp maybe.
LES IRRESISTIBLES "STORY OF BAXTER WILLIAMS" Concept poppsyche like Ogden's Nash Gone Flake, '69, criminally over-looked lp, some fuzz, very UK sound (not sure, but possibly they are a UK band that only had this put out in France???)
JOAN-PAU VERDIER "Vivre" lp '76 is great with a touch of psyche elements.
OMEGA PLUS "How to Kiss the Sky" One of the few Frenchies influenced by Cream

'Baxter Williams' gets tiring. The Omega Plus is ok in places but not great imho.

Eduardo Bort s/t (74) - This is excellent, one psychy guitars, backed by a solid band. May take a few listens, but it'll grab you. Considered a classic in Spain. Second, `Silvia' (83)not as good.
· Los Brincos ? Mundo, Demonio, y Carne (World, Devil, and Body) (70) Starts off good proto then lags
· Cotó-en-Pèl Holocaust (78) 4 tracks, early Pink Floyd moves.
· Evolution s/t (70) hard rock 70s
· Maquina Why? Maquina ! (71) psych meandering
· Pan y Regaliz s/t (71) psych/rock
· Smash Glorieta de los Lotos (70), We Come To Smash This Time (71) flamenco rock , first band of Gualberto
· The Storm s/t (74) ? inspired by Deep purple, hammond early Deep Purple
· Tabaco Desintegracion (71) ? Reminds of Spencer Davis
· Alameda s/t (79), Misterioso Manantial (80),Noche... good flamencoprog
· · Cal s/t (80) didnt like this
· Formas ? Largo Sueños (81)like Mezquita, which is to say ...good!
· Guadaquiver - same - good fusion

Are you sure about that mate cos you listen to some right shite LOL My musical taste is of unrivaled excellence and I am a creature of great integrity. You have no right to offer an opinion on the taste of one who is above you. Besides, anyone that posts music on a feckin' HIFI FORUM , and spend s time with music-dummies... should not cast stones.

Prog collectors have a handful of unhealthy traits
1. They collect & collect to a point where desperation sets in & they start buying any old junky obscure LP's, they are so obscure for a reason: Low sales basically cos they were shite. 2. They start involving artists into their Prog collection that are not Prog. Also cant help but involve Pyschedelic Rock bands coining them off as Prog. Pigeon holes a go-go with proggers. 3. They start introducing solo LP's just because they may have some past connection to a prog band but are generally not prog. An example would be me buying Jon Anderson 'Song of Seven' being a YES fan but that LP is about as much prog as Shirley Bassey is
As you can imagine the collection quickly becomes largely off track. But as i say everyone to their own but please for one second dont expect people to be impressed & dont see yourself as an higher body than anyone else just because you think you are the only person on earth to have heard of the rabble you keep gloating about..
See ya in another 24 Hours LOL
