Sunak’s actually made a video lol. He’s the offspring of poor, struggling immigrants, so he knows all about what it means to be at the bottom.
Talking out of his bottom, more like.

I’ve been looking at the Tory runners and riders. I’d be okay with either Hunt or Tugendhat. I’d be ambivalent about Wallace. The one I’d hate is Truss. She is thick as they come, mentally unstable and also likely to use her Thatcher Tribute Act to try and win an early election. She’s a bigger danger than Boris IMHO.
My two criteria for the next leader are:
1. How much good can they do in the short term? 2. Are they likely to win another election, given that I want the Tories out.
Truss is bottom on both, as I fear she would do a lot of harm with populist bribes before an early election. We’d be stuck with 5 years of utter danger and economic ruin.
Top on both is actually Sunak.
1. He made very good calls on furlough and economic support packages when they were needed. He was brave, inventive and clever. He won’t bow to populist calls to get us in deep debt with vote-courting tax cuts when it’s the wrong thing to do.
2. He’s very unlikely to get re-elected unless he does marvellously well. If he does, I’d want him to stay. However capable he is, folk now know Sunak’s been plotting since December 21, so he’s not a nice guy. He’s also a tax dodger and a liar as shown by his non-dom history and his green card. Boris won lots of red wall moron votes by wrapping himself in our ludicrous flag. Sunak has zero chance of doing that when his wife is looking to live in India and he’s got one and a half feet in the USA. He’d also split the Tories as the Boris lovers will be after him.
So there we have it. I’ve even surprised myself. If someone else emerges with better credentials, I’d consider them, but for now it’s Sunak.

Perfect evidence as to why Patel is just as unfit fir office as Boris:
Priti Patel’s plan to end Channel crossings in disarray as Navy threatens to ‘walk away’ Official figures reveal that number of refugees crossing in small boats has doubled since military brought in
The Royal Navy is threatening to “walk away” from Boris Johnson and Priti Patel’s plan to stem the number of boats carrying asylum seekers across the Channel as official data shows how spectacularly the policy has backfired. Defence chiefs are said to be fed up with trying to enact the prime minister and home secretary’s rapidly imploding plan of using the military to control small boats in the Channel. Ministry of Defence data shows crossings have close to doubled since the military was given “primacy” over the issue from mid-April compared with the first three months of this year. Patel and Johnson were warned that deploying the Royal Navy would be likely to increase the number of crossings but ignored expert advice because, according to internal sources, they wanted to appear tough.
One former defence minister told the Observer that their miscalculation had guaranteed the navy was effectively providing an “efficient taxi service” for asylum seekers.
Meanwhile, senior Home Office sources have admitted the UK could receive up to 60,000 people by small boat this year – double last year’s record – with another 20,000 arriving by different routes, undermining the credibility of Patel, who has made reducing crossings her priority.
Patel will be grilled by the home affairs select committee this Wednesday on Channel crossings, the lack of safe, legal passage to the UK and her Rwanda asylum plan. The government has spent significant sums trying to remove asylum seekers to east Africa, but has yet to deport a single person.
Defence chiefs hope Johnson’s resignation is an opportunity to scrap the Channel initiative as it also ties up resources at a time of escalating international security threats. Tobias Ellwood, Conservative chair of the influential defence committee, which has completed a damning inquiry into the use of the military in the Channel, said: “I know the MoD really wants to walk away from this, wants this to conclude. There’ll be less political pressure now. The prime minister is going.”
The former soldier added: “From my personal perspective, I can say this is a complete waste of naval time. The navy is already overstretched.”

This leadership contest is providing loads of entertainment.
There are rumours being quashed that Boris is set to resign as PM on Monday and stand for Tory Party leadership again.
Even funnier, Grant Shapps now thinks he has what it takes to lead the country. I have more chance than he does.

Just been looking up that Mordaunt woman. Don’t like her one bit. If anything she’s worse than Truss. “Cruella” the Braver man and that other no-mark female nobody has heard of have got no chance, but I do worry about Truss and Mordaunt.
I really desperately hope we don’t get another woman PM. As a breed, I think they are usually psychologically unhinged. They take everything personally and can’t separate logic from emotion. They bear grudges for life and never forgive. They also treat information on the basis of who is providing it, rather than its relative merits. The very last thing we need right now is another woman.

Not me. The Tory Right are despicable loons. On that note, looks like Zahawi is another tax dodging rogue.
From The Observer:
A “flag” was raised by officials over the financial affairs of the new chancellor, Nadhim Zahawi, before he was promoted, the Observer can reveal.
Civil servants in the Cabinet Office’s propriety and ethics team are said to have alerted Boris Johnson to a HM Revenue and Customs “flag” over Zahawi before his appointment. The PM appointed him despite the possible concerns over his tax affairs.
“It’s extraordinary that flags were raised ahead of Nadhim’s appointment by the Downing Street proprietary team,” one source said this weekend. “These sorts of concerns would stop someone receiving an MBE or OBE. The idea he could be chancellor or even prime minister is unbelievable”.

You couldn’t make this up lol. Has anyone checked it isn’t just Boris pissing on top of the roof:
“ Commons sitting delayed because of water leaking into chamber
Today’s sitting of the House of Commons has been delayed because water has bee pouring in through the ceiling of the chamber after a suspected leak, PA Media reports. Buckets were catching drips around the green benches, with a clean-up operation under way amid efforts to keep the central table dry with protective coverings. It was unclear what was causing the leak since the weather in Westminster was very warm and dry. A message on the annunciator monitors in Parliament states: “Today’s sitting is delayed due to a water leak in the chamber. Revised sitting time to be announced.” Police officers could be seen entering the Commons chamber with what appeared to be water-absorbent blankets.
Entry to the chamber was restricted while the issue was being dealt with. Labour MP Emma Hardy who briefly walked into the Commons chamber before being turned away told PA the water leak appears to be “just in front of the despatch box”. She said said: “I have just walked through and there are a lot of people working, around six or seven. Lots of blankets on the floor and a machine, which I’m not quite sure what is doing. It [the leak] is just in front of the despatch box, but the roof looks fine.”

In terms of the British press and Boris, it was just a welcome distraction. He’s never stood by anyone in his life, and the only reason he latched onto Ukraine was to try and divert attention and claim he couldn’t be replaced when there was a war on.
The West may protest at Putin publicly, but they tacitly let him grab chunks of Ukraine. The end-game will be that Ukraine loses about a quarter of its territory, and will end up agreeing a policy of neutrality. Had they done that before invasion, they’d not have lost a centimetre of land. The West will get the Scandinavian countries on board NATO. It’s a win for both sides, with Ukraine as a sacrificial pawn.
All the folk waving Ukraine flags have been played. They are exactly the same people who clapped and banged pots for the NHS and yet are now walking around maskless, mixing unchecked and spreading covid. The very same people who said Boris should be forgiven for partying whilst the NHS people they cheered for were risking their lives.
These people constitute the majority of voters, it’s why we got Both Boris and Brexit in the first place.
