Yes some of the RSD titles are way more expensive this year. Up to over £50 for a double. Getting close to what MFSL now charge and for a digital sourced product rather than AAA. Some single albums are around £30. Should be £20 for a single and £25 for a double unless it's all analogue with a very high quality sleeve. Even with 10% inflation should add just £2-3. The reproduction on these titles has been getting better over the last few years. My main gripe remains printing bar codes on the sleeves and in the case of Universal sticking their UMC logo on the labels and sleeves.

That GONG aint even a RSD thats the laugh. Regarding that UMC logo on the labels yep & it looks horrid, another things is especially the last GENESIS releases why the hell is the label text so tiny you can hardly read it. Ive come to the realisating that they coudnt do anything correctly with new records if they tried. You cant even see which side is side one without super bright light & good eye sight which i aint got & people wonder why buyers insist on original issues of things.
I was saying to the wife last night im stopping buying records & just get shut of some of them. Just keep the complete Discographies i have from certain band. Inflation is bollox its just an opportunity to take the piss & no matter how much i prefer Vinyl im afraid its not good enough to pay £30/£35 for an LP.
My worse nighmare was to be left with holes in the collection, but thanks to a certain mail order company & their damage record fiascos i now have records missing that are now out of press & im not prepared to wait any longer fo possible re-press that no doubt be expensive next time around. I wanted this list i made bought done & walk away by now, I have other things in life to be doing without this bollox on my mind all the time.I dont want to be living records & stereos like a lot of people do.

Im just waiting on an E-mail back im getting shut of a hundred or so of these records. Honestly they are just not upto my standards. Also abolishes my missing records want list
Ill probably end up buying another CD player & get shut of the rest in the long run. Present records are just rubbish is so many ways.

Some people have short memories or not old enough. I can remember records in the 70s being of poor pressing quality and sleeves that were damaged or quickly fell apart when new. The used stuff out there has been filtered to some extent though I still get records with original pressing faults that clearly aren't from mishandling. Paper stock and printing with digital technology is rarely going to be the same now. Sometimes you have to suck up the odd slight imperfection and I consider myself pretty fussy with these things. Does not justify losing a stack of money on the records you purchased.

tbh Classic ive no interest in it anymore, Im a 1st issue man & nothing will change that. Im also at the stage now where i get bored listening to music, very rare i let something play out, ive lived it too much & burned myself out . I shall put it down to a big loss but as far as im concerned i did that from the offset even bothering with new editions. but ive always wasted money on new brain waves ever since i got rid of my 1st issue collection in the early 90's. I think its time to just keep various ones i truly like for old time sake, put em away & be done with it all.
Regarding Hi-Fi well i cant live with this turntable anymore, Im not prepared to put money into anything special because im getting shut of records. I used to love all the rigmarole involved in putting records on etc, But that has now become a massive chore due to the lack of interest, it's just playing at it. TT has been unplugged & away for weeks now. Im literally being forced to buy new Equipment because of the surroundings i live, i like old stuff but it doesnt work with me with modern decor, id rather do without, i cannot concentrate in uncomfortable surroundings. I can see exactly what will be coming, Another CD player with Headphone unit i can just plonk on the sideboard by the armchair.
I don't have a short memory, infact i have a good one because i know full well that 1st editions are superior. New records no matter how good people claim they sound, they do not sound the same. I think i have about two dozen 1st issues & ive compared them all to new pressings, every single one has sounded better than the new. But at the end of the day, the condition & cost prevented me from buying them up again in the first place. New records with me were nothing but desperate measures, something to own & be proud of but nothing can be further from the truth. Harbouring junk.
Baggs is ofc correct to take the piss they are a joke & they are embarressing.

Ever heard the notion that orig early 70s fuzzy on certain labels like Vertigo are TRANSLUCENT when held up to the light? This is a sign of the better quality vinyl first press. Holding certain Vertigos up to the sun you get this reddish sheen on the black vinyl.

UK Swirl & Neon were the very best in every way. Olav Wyper made it so. Nothing will sound like Early 1st issues on em, nothing you hear.
Im happy to have nothing tbh, just the memories that i owned every one bar two. When i bought the recent Repertoire issues of the two CRESSIDA & the AFFINITY it hit me straight away how wrong they sounded, Absolutely nothing sonically to match the originals & if yee canni hear it yoose def as fook loike.

Um the GONG - MAGICK BROTHER vinyl re-issue was on Amazon for pre-order of over £35.00 to be released 29th April. When the day came it was taken down. I thought not only was that a piss take of a price but found it odd & that no one else had it on Pre-Order. So i contacted BYG records to ask what was going on, yesterday they told me no its release date is 9th October & it's £23.

I gots vinyl reissue of " DEATH MAYBE YOUR SANATA CLAUS"
I still remember the circumstances even though 20 years ago. I got a Venezualian prog orig from my good Dutch contact. Later he realized his mistake and said he would give me "Santa Claus" and 2 other good lps if I returned him the Venezualean. I did.

Theres a remastered for the original tapes edition of CENTIPEDE - SEPTOBER ENERGY out 30th September but i see no signs of any bonus tracks. Cant see that selling the The BGO edition sounds fine to me, only thing the new has going for it is the UK white cover & not the USA Bottles cover that the BGO uses.
