I know it's a bit like asking what your preferred type of cancer would be, but on the basis these tossers won't be budging for the next two years or so who would your preferred choice of PM be?
My personal choice would be Sunak. On the basis that he might work with Hunt, I think he's the only choice that might have any chance of hanging on to the already-fractured economy.

I agree. It should’ve been Sunak in the first place. Truss was always a nutter. I’m fully expecting the Tories to either choose Boris or Mordaunt. I wouldn’t rule out those two doing a deal either. When it comes to making the wrong choices, you can bank on the Tories.

I can’t believe the press have forgotten this prescient warning, so I can only assume they are ignoring it in the hope we will all forget too. It was posted July 20th and the shopping trolley is Cummings name for Boris. Human Hand Grenade was the name he gave Truss.

It's worse than horrible - a true living nightmare. I guess we all know where this is leading.

Sunak still favourite, Mordaunt a possible runner up (or scapegoat) and from a Telegraph article sent to me this lunchtime, Boris, who could slide back in just by saying 'Sorry!' to his adoring legions of fans.
let's face it, Boris was coming through our anger over his earlier misdemeanours and it was only the Chris Pilcher issue that took it over the edge - I'm certain most of 'us' would have let the earlier partygate stuff go by that time. It's kind of 'Devil You Know' with him and anyway, unless there's a massive turnaround, it's only for two years anyway!
Like Clinton and Obama, Boris seems a lot more popular abroad than in his home country! I was told by someone who knew him a little, that the 'big things' matter far more to him than the debris he leaves in his wake and maybe that's the big issue here, I don't know.
Calling a GE now would just pass the poo over the Labour, which really doesn't want it in the current situation.

I really hope they do elect Boris because it will cause chaos and could finish the Tories off for good. I think you seriously underestimate how much hatred and contempt there is for Boris amongst the public, although I do get that some folk will just vote for him whatever. I certainly will never get past his Partygate antics, let alone his legion of other transgressions.
I think a Boris comeback is inevitable at some point, so I’d rather have it now when he inherits a split party, an economic crisis and a significant chunk of his own MPs who will resign the whip.
