You mean you buy the books just as coffee table accessories? You don't read them?
.... By the way, you are incorrect regards Arthur.

Arthur most certainly existed.
I think it was you wot posted 2 or 3 weeks ago saying contrary to this: Arthur actually fought FOR ROME for a while.

The Annales Cambriae, Latin chronicles late 10th century place Arthur's death at he battle of Camlann.(These chronicles put down some 300 yahres after Arthur's death ). 12 battles are recorded fought by Arthur against the Saxons.
In Monmouth's "History of the kings of Britain" Emperor Hiberius demands a tribute of King Arthur . If he refused to appear before the Roman Senate the Romans would attack.Arthur refuses and with his cousin King Hoel seeks allies and goes to Brittany. Later he meets the army of the Roman empire in Burgundy....
So...dance the Sammy, mucker

Sir Lancelot was an invention, as was, I guess, the Round Table.
I gots both volumes of Malory's "Le Morte d'Arthur" on Penguin paperback.
Read them as a teenager. Don't see myself going thru all that again.

The Annales Cambriae maybe proof he existed but not how he is always depicted by others. Thats what im saying. Oh aye. You fink the makers of a FUCKING ACTION film are going to take any deeper look into historical verisimiltude? ........... Okay, its not historical, but for example this just comes to my mind: I recently watched the remake of Pelham 123. In this version John Travolta kidnaps a subway train . We are supposed to believe that the gold stock he bought is expected to rise to billions in the short time (one hour?) after word hits the news of the subway hostage taking. Oh fuck, fuck roight off America!

I’m busy reading a book called “surrounded by idiots”. It’s meant to be a management theory book about how such a statement is simply down to most people being different from you, rather than inferior. So far I’m more convinced than ever that I actually am surrounded by idiots everywhere in life.

I looked at a couple of reviews and it sounds like it gives new insights. That approach always interests me.

The big difference these days is mass communications. People are so gullible, they think the messages they get from tv and newspapers is a reflection of reality. Life will only get worse for the vast majority, until it’s too late.
I give human civilisation less than 100 years before those pulling the strings destroy it and the planet. They will keep wanting a bigger and bigger slice of a smaller and smaller pie. The planet doesn’t have endless resources and it can’t sustain the exponential population growth and raping of the planet that the capitalist version of economic growth has fed on.

I’m looking for a nice pair of bookends. Something Art Nouveau or even Art Deco would be nice.
