I'm not into that....so...fuck off

The recent "psych" bands cross/fuse all the above with neopsych. I have serious misgivings about this bearing. When as much as 300 new bands per year are pursuing this direction, it is unnerving. And you can bet that ,even if I had all the time in the world to look into all this, I damn well would not. I'd get bored silly with all the same tired riffs (they can only copy - no one is composing great riffs like, say, Jethro Tull "Mnstrel in the Gallery" title track.)

And then you have the fucking spacerock rambling on forever with their occasional key-change tedium where you're hard-pressed to distinguish one band's sound" from the other.

Jazz really is a stinky genre. I especially hate the stuff that seems to get on audiophile playlists. Boz Scaggs and Donald Fagen for example. Plenty more though. Anyone remember the hype over Ben Sidran?
