The last era that actually had an identity was the 80's. mishmash ever since. You cant really call Dance music the 90's cos it really started in the 80's its just basically derived from the Belgian New Beat scene that just evolved into different styles over the years. Thing is it will always stick for decades cos its what kids can create in their bedroom at low cost. You dont really need a Recording studio anymore for that music nor do you need A&R cos the internet sorts that & you don't even need a pressing plant to make the product cos again its all on line as downloads.
