Someone took a video of the Audio East show last weekend which I attended (I'm not in it thank heavens) and posted it on Youtube
It's only a small gathering and the likes of Russell K and the Epos ES14N's weren't used - the Rega room, very sparse and live acoustic, had screaming Dynaudio's instead. Still good fun and I was able to catch up with one or two old mukkas I used to deal with when I was in retail.

Thanks for post ping this, Dave. What a super little video diary! The show didn’t have a massive amount of kit but the filming of what there was really entertained me. Of course it’s hard to tell much from the audio side but I could hear clear differences. The Kudos and Goldenear speakers sounded good. The Rega room was a terrible racket though.

Really bad venue for audio demonstrations. Everything struck me as towards bright and unlistenable other than ATC (even with Chord). Unfortunately those big ATCs cost the price of a small car today. Mostly brands I cannot stand the sound off in general. Golden Ear sounded pretty decent as well. I got the impression the poster came from China by push bike.

Yes definitely a bright sounding venue. I really did enjoy the footage though. Nice to have a decent spell in each room.

I was very sad the Rega dem didn't sound better. By all accounts, the Aethos amp, top phono stage and Planar 10/Apheta 3 source would have done better with ES14N's which my old dealer pal likes a lot (smooth, no jangly nasties). Best not say more, except that Naim have forever left the 'simple is best' scenario they once promoted...

Naim aren’t Naim anymore AFAIC. They lost it when Julian Vereker passed. So much of their stuff today goes wrong within a short period. Loads of junk computer shite inside them. Prices are crazy too.
A mate tells me Focal are in trouble so Naim might end up in strife too.

I'm surprised that Naim stayed in that corporate umbrella for so long and wasn't sold off.
I don't know about unreliability, but there was a period where the software wasn't seemingly the most stable. Not my scene any more and I personally don't like the looks of the new products at pushing six grand a piece. The three boxes they had opened up on a table were incredibly complex inside and nothing like the tractor-build CB and Olive models.
Apparently, JV was well aware of the new models back in 2000 or so, but no idea if streaming was even thought of back then, let alone distantly planned.
