7 TREES "EXIT" I prefer my progressive rock undiluted with....wait a sec. Wot the ferk does "undiluted with" mean?? I prefer my prog smothered with organ. But here you gots mellotron also ,and, take it from a bona fide prog masterman, in 2011 there were damn few prog bands that still cranked mellotron.
This German band , as SISYPHOS, released maybe 6 or 7 albums, starting off with the first two REAL PROGGY ONES, THEN GOING INTO SERIOUS DECLINE UNTIL 2011, PHOENIX RISES FROM THE ASHES WITH THIS MARVELOUS CD.
In the time-honoured traditional prog trio format: keys, bass, drums. Alla Dutch band, Trace or German well-known progsters, Triumverat.
Mostly instrumental this isn't just some rot - wot audiofools are accustomed to - scrawled whilst squeezing out a log on the crapper.
I do not seek to concillate popular opinion. In fact I don't give a fig about majority opinion. All I'm saying is that, if you cherish pwog, you wans this in the collectro, Hubert.

I had a real shitola thrifting morning today.
As if this record-collecting hobby is not difficult enough, but then along comes a crusty old basket as tenacious as yerself... This cunt must be waiting outside the thrift store one hour beefwhore opening time. And that is all it takes to ruin yer vinyl pickings.
It's a no win sitchuashun. I knos that were I to come, say 10 minutes earlier than him, sure as Perry Como is shit, this basket will be 10 minutes earlier next time.
Being first in line is critical in this pathetic vinyl-collecting game. Consider the odds:
1/ In this particular chazza there is always only 3 crates of records.
2/ On a good day maybe 30 records will be brought in. And these likely to be Como, Nana, Englebert and Streisand.
3/ Of course for convenience/laziness sake these 30 records will be placed by the store employee at the front.
4/ Now, all it takes the avid collector/vulture to have is 30 FUCKING SECONDS on you and you can be sure most everything is scooped up. (If your lucky he might feel disposed to leave you the crumbs , or - on examination - put back the poor condition copies.)
So, you understand, its all stacked against you.
This morning was particularly bad. The basket pulls out, right before my eyes , an original Canadian press (with textured foc) King Crimson first lp (which you just never see here anymore). Then, as if God is putting the fuck to me, I pull ANOTHER copy! Yep. You guessed it - my copy is original also but the condition is vg-vgfuckin minus! Cocksucker!
All I managed to get today was 2 records I don't have in my collectro, and never really wanted:
DAVID GILMOUR - SAME and PINK FLOYD'S shittay MOMENTARY LAPSE OF REASON (which might as well be another Gilmour solo lp)
Oh how thoroughly crap this hobby is.
Conceive yourself coated in tar and you will image one half my torment.
Oh yeah, that wasn't the worst of it. The basket "finds" an ONKYO amp for $15. (An amp he likely hid the previous day -when it wasn't 30%-off-seniors.)

The YES album, "Mirror to the Sky" ,their 23 release!, is just out and I have already heard it. THAT is wot it means to be a prog masterman, Jimmehs.
Now, right off the bat you see its TWO cds. But easily all could fit on one cd with 16 minutes to spare. Wot does this tell you ,even beefwhore hearing the set? It says, fuckin' shorter tracks,Jimmeh. And this is bad news for sure. YES is known for longer tracks where you can work the complexity more.
Deffo a step down from the previous cd, "The Quest". The Anderson wannabe makes this music sound...soft.
I'm not gonna go so far and say this is sugar-sweet noxious foetor...it's not the part of a gentleman Masterman like myself to pick holes into a band that is the cornerstone of pwog, but.....fuck it man, this is NOT YES! It is some Steve Howe band (with Jon Davison, Geoff Downes, Jay Schellen, and Billy Sherwood.) If it's YES then its YES minus the punch, minus the attack, minus the bite.
Wot yew say, little Stevie? Wondrous crap??

This is dentist waitingroom music.
Sure your average diehard YESfan will be hiding his disconsolate-ness deep inside; biting his tongue at the reality of wot really is happening here - the wheels coming off the runaway vehicle.

Bassist apes Squire, but that's okay. He is very good. Lyrics are very old-school , which is to say babble as always mainly about light and the sun and stars till it's coming out your ass. (One track titled "Luminosity.) . Also, as ever, crazy over-optimistic. Almost like some Jesus album, only YES never pounded-in Christianity as far as I know. And, as ever, proselytizing - not religious zeal, but simply how to live a better life. Too much lyric for my liking. When you remove any complex instrumental parts, the trademark simple vocal parts are amplified in their tweeness. (I'm thinking popsike here!) And, of course, major drawback - this album is guitar-driven.No surprize there as I said it's a Howe album. Keys to the backdrop. "Circles of Time" and second track on disc #2 can suck my cock.

SUNTREADER - THE VOYAGE
"Recordings from the mid 70's redicovered in 2000.
Morris David Brough Pert (8 September 1947 – 27 April 2010) was a Scottish composer, drummer/percussionist, and pianist who composed in the fields of both contemporary classical and jazz-rock music.
Morris Pert was born and raised in Arbroath Scotland where he played in percussion, folk and rock bands and began to compose. He gained a Trinity College diploma in piano performance in 1967 and a Bachelor of Music degree from Edinburgh University in 1969. He then studied in London on a scholarship at the Royal Academy of Music with Alan Bush and James Blades.
As a rock musician Pert spent two years (1970–1972) with Japanese percussionist Stomu Yamashta as a member of his ensembles "East Wind" and "Red Buddha Theatre". In 1971 he founded the group "Come to the Edge" with Robin Thompson and Andrew Powell. After personnel changes in 1973 this band became "Sun Treader" (or "Suntreader") and recorded two albums. In 1977 Pert joined the jazz-rock band Brand X for their second album, composing three numbers for their Masques album. He stayed with the band, touring extensively, until 1979.
As a session musician he played with many musicians, including Paul McCartney, Andrew Lloyd Webber, John Williams, Kate Bush, Mike Oldfield, Sally Oldfield, Peter Gabriel, Peter Hammill, Jon Anderson, Elvis Costello, Bryan Ferry and Talk Talk."

MIKE OLDFIELD TUBULAR BELLS 50th ANNIVERSARY
Yorx ReMix is just horrid. Sounds like dancefloor airhead-trance (wot Andre used to collect on 45rpm).
In Dulce Jubilo (London 2012 Olympics opening ceremony version) is good.
