Prices of Tickets these days are beyond disgusting. £75 for some American crap, are they absolutely demented? No one worth bothering with these days anyway imho & i personally have never been that bothered about concerts. Ive put up with watching some crap over the years that wife wanted to go see but enough is enough ive put my foot firmly down

Totally agree with you - some of these prices are fucking madness. Mrs. Stevie is talking about going to some gigs where the ticket prices are in the low hundreds. If you add the cost of going out for a meal and some drinks, and maybe even a hotel bill if it's a gig you need to travel to, you might as well go somewhere for a short holiday instead.
When I was an impoverished schoolboy in 1974, the price of a ticket to see ELP at Wembley Empire Pool was around £2.50 if I remember correctly. Allowing for inflation, that would equate to around £35 in today's money - a much more realistic prospect.
I think a lot of this is due to the fact that bands now expect to make money from touring, and it's become an essential revenue stream. Back in the day, we were told that concerts very rarely broke even. It was all about promoting new albums that then hopefully went on to sell shitloads, thus rewarding the artistes that way.
