Who's brainwave was it to convert CD printing from basically a Label to such horrid looking picture labels? It surprises me they aint just scrapped the booklet altogether & printed the cover on the disc as yet, also surprises me as the latter label uses more ink to print. One of the reasons i buy original CD Editions is because of this eyesore.

Jewel Cases: I hate the standard 10.5mm 2CD Cases. The 2CD Fat Boxes were the proper case but i suppose that was to do with costing. Also
Digipacks: God i detest them & have gone to great expense selling all i had to replace with earlier standard Jewel case edition. Cheap crap that is so prone to damage. Get this the latest PINK FLOYD set i had was Digipack that were lacquered print (imitation laminate) That literally started to chip away on the corners sat on the shelf doing nothing, unbelievable. I put this down to the Shrink wrap that started to loosen the fragile finish. All the same Digipacks are utter junk in my eyes ofc if you dont give a crap about condition, like a hell of a lot don't why worry eh?
Jewel Case Trays: The Clear plastic ones are junk that break easily as do the disc retaining teeth. I always swap them out for the old style Black trays, also with the Clear trays the left side front of the Jewel case looks stupid

Lastly this is not a fault of the CD itself but the opportunist snakes that put up big price tags. Pricing a used original CD edition in reflection of the original LP value.

I dislike all those things too, with the exception of the very earliest clear cases. They were way better made and didn’t fail on me. It wasn’t long before the crap brittle ones appeared though. The very earliest ones were heavier and the material flexed instead of breaking.
