I think the best Doors comp is Weird Scenes Inside The Goldmine. Don't know what the best CD versions are.

I have a two CD set I was given thirty years ago on Elektra number 7559-60345-2
It's a 1985 release, so hopefully not 'mastered to death' as it was in the first flurry of getting material out on CD and a pretty much a 'straight' transfer I hope. Can't say more as I'm not really a Doors fan, sorry.

'13'. 'WEIRD SCENES INSIDE THE GOLDMINE' & 'BEST OF . There was also German compilations that eventually got released in the UK in the 70's & that was 'STAR COLLECTION VOL, 1+2'.. '13' has never been on CD nor have the 'STAR COLLECTION' albums.

Ive been trying to get the German 1983 Edition of their Debut to compare it against the 90's Remaster i have. I know that DOORS double CD you have its the one with Jim bare chested on the cover I love the DOORS, more into bands back then that were just simple no frills Singer/Bass/Guitar/ Small drum kit/Organ.

I've got the 1985 Electra CD version that Dave refers to. I also have 'The Very Best Of The Doors' as issued by Rhino in 2007. I bought it because in my mind the track listing is slightly superior, although all the usual suspects are there. Without a doubt, the sound quality is superior to the '85 Electra version. One possible negative is that it was issued in a rounded-corner jewel box which just might ignite your OCD.

All were in Super Jewel cases
