Take for instance Me & Wallace like the same music yet we argue like cat & dog even though his ego gets the best of him  He collects Vinyl & plays it, i no longer care as long as i have the music programme however im a tosser but he aint!  Yet its all the same music we are hearing..Answers on a postcard. It's the same with Hi-Fi i listen to old Equipment, someone really into Hi-Fi would look down on me for using junk in their eyes! Yet again we are both particular about Sound Quality.  Its easy to just say as long as it brings you what you want but that is way too easy to say. My dick is bigger than yours, Keeping up with the Jones, Brand/Model= Everyone know how much, Reverse psychology etc plays a big part in things |

Yeah I agree. I’m very much a “live and let live” person. Too many folk focus on other People and want to either align themselves with others, or align others with them. I just don’t think I’m wired that way. As long as we all enjoy our music, it’s all good.

To measure good properly you have to differentiate the bad from the good. (So either you go thru the laborious process of expanding your view and you sift outt all that bad music...or, you go the easy route and hang on to the coat-taiols of a mentor who had gone thru all that pain of finding the bad and eliminating. Just as to know the worth of heaven you have to know evil. If there is just good music in your world, that means you accept ANYTHING (and are worthless in Wallace's eyes.)

Its nothing to do with Bad or Good its to do with same hobby between people who are worlds apart but not so world apart really.
But regarding whats good & bad in music is bollox, its impossible to say what is good or bad because of that little thing called individual taste, something that you seem to have great issue understanding. There is no one at all that can judge what is good & bad but your own individual preference which means nothing.
Do you realised because you listen to scratch old record on old gear that your are looked down upon by those with shiny gear & perfect digital collections which is an example of what im saying in the o/p?

I’d also not care about being deemed “worthless” in someone else’s eyes, because their opinion just doesn’t affect me in any way. I can’t get my head around buying music or hifi to please or impress others. I’m exactly the same about buying gear just because it measures well. I’m listening to music for my own enjoyment, just like everything else I choose to experience in life. Any other way seems a waste of a life to me, but if others want to go that route, why would I care?
