The body labels are mint. Ive found a printer near me that can print me off a run of replicated J Cards in exactly the same card thickness & printing finish for both C60's & C90's.. Refurbish the cases is no problem . Nostalgia is there thats all that matters. One is 1976 issues, the other 1977 www.ebay.co.uk/itm/334581320492www.ebay.co.uk/itm/334693210543

I can see why you like them. People automatically assume that “value” is universal and commodified, but it’s anything but. Is very personal and also unique to each individual. It’s what life is all about: discovering what and who you love.

Not sure where to put this, but it does involve purchases so here goes. I’m starting to get into making stiff with leaded glass, and I have to start somewhere. My first bit of dabbling will be to change the red and green glass to two tone blue in a pair of wall sconces This is what they look like now, and below are the three glass types I’ve bought. The transparent one will likely get used on something else, but we will see. Just to explain a bit further, I will first be removing the green and red sections. Then I will need to cut identical sized pieces from the new glass. Next I will wrap the edges in copper foil before tinning them with solder Then I will tack them into place with more solder, before running solder lines to return the sconce to its current look. Well, I will when I either patinate the new solder to match the existing black, or clean and re-tin the older stuff for a natural look. Of course I could make a total arse of it all, but then I’d just do it again until I got it right.

You need Stain Glass cement also. you dont use this to glue the pieces in it just rubbed into the leaded when finished to strengthen it

Nostalgia is totally personal to each person, may be utter junk to some people. its not a cheap thing buying old stuff like this & does take a lot of time, money & patience to get things how you want them.

From the videos I’ve seen, I’d only use that if I was using lead strips, like on a stained glass window,. This is a smaller gauge piece which has just used adhesive copper tape on the edges, which is then just run over with solder. I’ll see if I can find a video of how they are put together. I really do want to wok with fully leaded projects. This is just my way of learning some basic elements first. The larger iron and solder, tallow flux and precision cutting of glass are all new to me. Edit: This is how the sconces are put together. I’m glad I’m only changing a small bit of them as a start. youtu.be/6uP5RMVGB5E?si=ZhppjQycsQ6Z5bCV

Wow! what a turn up for the books. The original tube upright are not real tube they are fabricated to form a tube (ERW), i intend swapping both out anyway hence one missing is no problem.. The chances a pair of these original ULS-40 stands turning up is so slim. www.ebay.co.uk/itm/235510418768

I also got my BA A350 1000 model today, but it looks like my Singapore Airways 777 has been nicked. It was posted 1st class recorded a week ago. I’ll give it til the weekend and claim a refund.

The pic of the black glass doesn’t fully do it justice against the carpet like that. It’s much nicer in the light.
If the Singapore 777 doesn’t show, I’ll likely buy a different Singapore Airlines model. Maybe a 380.

I bet there were unopened boxfulls of cassettes that went to landfill. Just like VHS, and Betamax. People just don’t see the future do they?
