Now another product that will give you the Naim sleeve finish as long as you work to a decent standard: www.ebay.co.uk/itm/144611913837I’ve tried a few different products and this is by far the closest. In fact, it’s an exact match.

One last one for tonight although it’s not a product. For scratches and dings on speaker cabinets. Place a wet towel over the problem area and apply pressure with a steam iron. They often pop out!
Now, you may be faced with loads of clouding to the lacquer as a result of applying steam. Simple remedy: Just spray the area with Spruh Koenig (as in the opening post) and the. Clouding will magically vanish!

Just thinking about glues. I use a lot of them given that I’m always making or fixing things. I have some favourites and some I’m less keen on. I’ll share mine but I’d love to get some tips on good products too. As a superglue, I like this: www.ebay.co.uk/itm/145550051915?It’s got two little pumps on the sides which you squeeze in order to deliver a controlled amount. It’s also a little more gloopy than most liquid superglues. It tends to last, too. I hate glues that you open, use and then go back to, only to ind they’ve set. As a flexible glue, I love this stuff:www.ebay.co.uk/itm/315093391458?Lots of crafters and jewellers swear by it, Contact Adhesive: Lots of good ones, but I did like this one: www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0001P03VU?tag=findthisbest-21&linkCode=osi&th=1Two part epoxies? I haven’t really found one that stands out, They all seem to do ok. Clear glue? Well I like Pattex again, but there is a cartridge glue that I think is fab. It’s this one. uk.gorillaglue.com/gorilla-heavy-duty-grab-adhesive-crystal-clear/Probably my favourite and most-used adhesive. It’s flexible, works in all temperatures, applies accurately and lasts to the end of the cartridge. Somehow it never sets in the nozzle either as long a you are reasonably tidy. It’s a fab product and worth every penny. Glues I don’t like? Gorilla original glue is one. It activates via moisture and it swells and looks pretty ugly. My biggest issue with it though, is that you will use it once and o back a few weeks later to find it’s all gone hard. I bought a giant size bottle to start with and lost 99%. I bought a really small bottle about a year ago and never opened it. I looked at it today and it too has gone hard. I’d say only buy when you need it and you specifically want a moisture activated glue. Otherwise avoid.

I’ve used that before. It’s not bad and not that expensive. Only gripe I really had with it was that it didn’t have the highest initial grab compared to some others. The turbo version is better in that respect and also more flexible when dry, so will accommodate some movement. www.amazon.co.uk/EVO-STIK-Adhesive-Temperature-Movement-Resistant/dp/B01NA0DA8G?th=1I prefer Soudal Fix All High Tack because of its high grab and flexibility. It’s so thick you will need a decent cartridge gun to squeeze it out, especially if you only want a thin bead. Fix All Flexi is an even more flexible version for areas where there may be movement and you want to to adhere.

Iva also been happy with all of the Soudaflex range of adhesives and sealants. 40FC is a great product you can use outdoors as well as indoors. The only gripe is that it always sets in the cartridge within weeks of opening, so it’s “Open and Use” and buy again when you need more. It’s very durable though and low shrinkage.its also great value for money, so I’ll excuse its inability to stay useable after opening.

The best No Nails adhesive i use is called GUN A NAIL, You can't buy it on line anymore i don't think but our local wood shop has it.

Never heard of Gun-A-Nail before but I will keep a look out for it thanks Edit: It appears it’s only available as pictured and described, I’d never call the finish I got as “satin gloss”. It was the same as Naim Chrome Bumper and Olive sleeves.

Already have a TRIO 'KA2000a' amp. 'KA2002' amp & 'KT2001' tuner.. Bought another 'KA-2000a' amp that needs service & clean when i get time. Also bought a mint 'KA-4002' amp which had a missing end piece as you can see, but fear not i bought another 'KT-2001' tuner for next to nothing which i got as a donor for the black end piece i can swap onto the amp to complete. All im short of now is a 'KT-2000a' Tuner & a couple of original handbooks & if they ever turn up minto TRIO 'KX-710' & 'KX-910' Cassette decks. I intend having a system in two rooms. But must box these away for the time being.
