I was watching THE DAY OF THE TRIFFIDS (1962) the other day, the section of the film on entry into the underground station where a warning announcement comes on the Tannoy. Straight away i thought of the announcement on the original HAWKWIND 'SONIC ATTACK'. Did the idea come from that movie?

BOMBON (Argentina 2004)
This was good.
Gentle 52 year old finds himself out of a job. Having no marketable skills - he worked at a gas station for 20 years - he travels bleak Patagonia trying to sell knives with hand-made handles. He befriends a woman stranded on the road and tows her car 150 km and fixes it, asking for nothing. The widowed mother says her recently dead husband was going to start up a stud-dog farm and it breaks her heart to see the dog chained up. She says it needs a kind owner and gifts it to him with all the vaccination and pedigree papers. Apparently the big dog is really something - bred from a champion. The man's luck begins to change.
I'm afraid to admit, what with being American-ized by the sorry state of violence tv these days, I expected in many spots for this film to turn ugly, like when he is selling his knives to questionable-looking people (who turn out to be okay). But, thankfully it didn't.
