Ive been looking back at the area where i was brought up around the turn of the 20th century up to say the late 50's before the council started defacing the whole lot. how many Chapels & Churches there was from just the top of the hill to the bottom. There was a Chapel on most every other street, They seem to be mostly Wesleyan/Methodist churches, Out biggest Church tho is St.Mary the Virgin Church of England, It's a Norman Church not sure exactly how old it is but the earliest records are 1227, was rebuilt in 1839 where the tower was increased in height, 1869 the Tower started falling to bits hence was rebuilt, 1894 saw modifications and organ fitting
As for cinemas. We had three on just a mile stretch. Three Junior Schools & one Comprehensive.
Its not even a Town. Just nothing much there these days but an utter shit hole

Ipswich has very many anglican (I think) churches but many are used for other worthwhile needs nowadays.
