I had to clean it today so I get where you are coming from. Spookily I had the squarer shaped version delivered yesterday from eBay. I didn’t expect the fish to make such a mess in the bottom. I’m glad you told me what you use because I’d never have tried it with battered fish because I’d have expected it to stop it crisping. I also bought one of those silicone crisper tray covers. I’ll be using that too from now on. I’m cooking a refrigerated pizza tonight but I have no idea how long to give it.

I cooked 2 pizzas. One veggie and the other was ham and pineapple. Both from Iceland. For the first time in about 20 years, I’m actually looking forward to my evening meal every night. And I’m snacking far less afterwards.

Cheers for that. I ended up giving the first pizza 10 mins on 200c (no preheat) and the second one 9 mins. I have never used an oven since the early 1990s (take too long to get spotless again) so the air fryer is an absolute godsend. I’d forgotten what it was like to have properly cooked food. I rarely even use a hob (too messy), so it’s been microwave and George Foreman for decades.

Yeah & they don't cost an arm & a leg to buy, the amount of money you save not using the cooker oven makes it a cheap doo in the long run if the air cooker breaks down it owes you nothing. The smallest one i use most everyday & have for about 3 years now. Still cooks fine.

I spent ages overthinking what one to buy. Then I just picked the one I liked the look of and seemed to get a good fit for my needs. As you say, they aren’t expensive and the food I’ve had so far has been really wonderful. Worth the money already.

Can you say again which air fryer you bought please?
Son's celebrating as they're letting him back on more solid food after a week on feeding tube for a few days and then soft food only. I can't believe how TOAST could be such a celebration, but it was this breakfast-time. Still not sure when he'll be home though, but hopefully later this week.

Instant Vortex were the brand I was leaning towards because they seem to be universally liked. I’ve also seen used ones for sale and they seem to wear well. Most still had intact Teflon coating, which was a key factor for me. Checking out used stuff for sale is usually a good way of checking durability. You really don’t want to be ingesting that stuff, so failing Teflon usually means that I bin the item. If I could accommodate a second, smaller one in ten kitchen, I’d have grabbed one of those you bought. It’s quite a small kitchen though and I’m not sure where it would go. FWIW I’d recommend the Gourmia ones from what I’ve seen so far. The build and finish are really good. They cook well and seem to have every feature I’d want.

Gonna make some Salmon/Spinach/Feta Puff pastry parcels for tea Sounds bloody lovely! You’d pay a fortune for stuff like that in a delicatessen.
