We all know it means = Good luck with the sale etc.
I see this being posted all the time in the for sale classifieds.
Why do people bother saying it? Are some people saying it just out of sarcasm? Or maybe to gain their post count? Bit of both?
I personally find it fecking annoying! There are many such annoying bastards on these audio forums. I would pay top money to see Mike Tyson bite their index fingers off!
Have a nice day.

Typing good luck on a person's sale is pointless. It just doesn't make sense to me, and on top I don't like it! And talk about a waste of time.
Maybe I just view the world through a different lens.

I'd suggest the comments are from those who'd very much like to own said item but can't for a variety of reasons, usually money as so many forum peeps over here are skint, but want to be part of it - a kind of 'I would if I could, but I can't so I won't' attitude.

Probably a mixture of that and also online “pals” being seen to support each other. Maybe also a bit of ruling themselves out of any expectations the seller might have of them being interested.
Personally I think most forum sale prices are laughably high. They want a fee-free, hassle-free sale to someone who is unlikely to be any trouble, and yet they expect more than they’d get on eBay.
You often get forum-made/hawked kit trading hands for silly money too. Then all of a sudden, it’s no longer the “in thing” and the person left holding the item when the music stops is left dumbfounded that they can’t sell for what they paid. You see them bumping and bumping stuff, grudgingly chipping a tiny amount off, whilst their cronies (who offloaded their kit in time) chip in with posts along the lines of “I can’t believe this hasn’t sold” or “Bargain Alert”. I’m sure somewhere in there, you’ll also see a few GLWTS too. It’s all BS. Forum favourites are “fools gold”.
