Why is it that Audio companies seem to be very slow at giving us something that we need instead of the same old crap. These little network players etc are fiddly rubbish in my eyes. Or using a laptop/ipad to stream is so labourious. CD players need to go now, something that relies on a lazer is so dated and potentially unreliable, even more so. I love Vintage ways but im also very lasy, i just dont see the point in using digital if it labourious which it is. putting a CD on is just too much trouble these days lol
why cant we have big built in touch screens with everything there before your eyes. Yeah you can buy big touch screen but you still rely on a computer

You've got your phone?
I don't know enough to go further, but some streamers use the phone with a suitable app to act as 'remote commander' to a streamer.

Thats not really moving forward is it, just utilising what we already have which is pretty much antiquated these days
I dont think you get what im aiming at. Phones are tiny finicky things

I wanted an all-in-one, plug & play CD drive, SSD and streamer. It would need to be built to a high standard from a decent name. It hasn’t happened yet and I don’t think it ever will because people would rather just pay a subscription for the likes of Spotify and stream that.
I do like Spotify but I’ve never streamed it to my system and I don’t think I ever will. I like the ritual of playing my own stuff. Spotify Premium sounds great to me straight from my IPad Pro into headphones. I’m just never motivated to use it. Having it all on tap just takes away any feeling of it being special.
For me, I just don’t see anything that could be offered as a move forward that I’d want.

The large touchscreen would be an important factor, however its not streaming services i was referring to its a own files system looking on it as a source, no phones, i pads or laptops involved totally integrated unit with NAS drives You would have though they were looking at this kind of thing seen as CD are being phased out, Vinyl is just an over played fad The closest thing ive seen was the MERIDIAN Control 15 which only uses a 17" touch screen & holds 1000 albums.
