I would never ever use FB if it were the last place on erf.

I love looking at peoples systems. It just gives me another outlet. I also do the same with Westies lol. I really can’t get away with having large amounts of “friends” and posting my status every five mins. As fir checking into cool places, I never go anywhere even without the lockdown.

I'm starting to get fed up with seeing people's system setups. Finding it too repetitive.

The biggest frustration I have with other folks pics is the lack of consideration they give to placement and space. It’s not uncommon to see 30ks worth that is so tightly crammed into an nsuitabke space that I reckon I could embarrass it with under a grands worth which is set up properly.
I get that not everyone has available space, but there is kit that works in limited space and near-field. It shoes to cost tne earth either.

If anyone has a vintage system made out of stuff that is real world equipment that any working man back then could afford im all eyes, but if its high end or none descript shit that cost silly money im not interested one bit. One thing that really grinds my bones is Repetitive enthusiasts that all seem to hanker after the same stuff. Garrard '301'/'401', Tannoy speakers, Techy '1210' Yaaaaaaaaaaaaawn Yeah Westie, what indeed about people that don't get it that people live in Family Homes, where the Hi-Fi is in a Family living Room, yet the idiots want to set the stereo up in the usually space monopolising bullshit way that is to then De Rigueur.

I’m not wanting to have a pop at anyone but this was recently put on Hoffman. It’s his money, his room and his system so he can do as he likes, but I did shake my head when I saw the pic.

They are really expensve. Edit: Here they are. A bargain at $1500 www.shakti-innovations.com/hallograph.htmWith that money too could buy a really good system of American used kit.

The Spicas really need free space. They also need you to be some way back, so firing down a long room is the only option. Having lots of stuff in between the system always kills the sound for me.The bit in the middle right now is just spare kit that I’m not using. I don’t have anywhere else to put it, so right now it’s an ornament. I’d rather live with it than put it away tbh.
I’d still be interested in hearing how you’d put stuff though. My last arrangement had the sofa where the two chairs are (that’s why the pic on the wall is off centre). One chair was where the sofa is now and the other was between the speakers. Getting the chair out from between the speakers was a real improvement.

More on those Shakti Hallogrhs: Good news is that they don’t need running in. I’m thinking of buying half a dozen curly wurlys and making my own. If it doesn’t improve the sound, I can always eat them.

Ours is a big spacious Room with both metal & wood furniture, Just a Rug on wood floor, Just emulsion walls [you can kinda see with the Systemdek Photo] So i have to also be careful with bright Hi-Fi. But as i said, i have to respect its a living Room not just for me.
