Our first Dyson DC01 is with my sister and is still working. She’s kept it immaculate and won’t part with it. It’s given 31 years of service and hasn’t needed a spare part or had any temper tantrums at all.

My Dad dumped our first Hoover Senior from the mid 50's when he moved in 1999. It was still working.

'Senior' were a good Hoover with the light screen on the front I think our house switched to Electrolux '500' series upright after the Hoover but i remember the 'Constellation' had the best suction. Im gonna buy one to restore it but im not telling the wife, noy sure how im gonna smuggle it in yet

PMC are surely the best Brit speakers you can buy these days. Her a vid of MB2SE. Id love to hear the twin cabinet active version. I think Miles at Abbey Road has a set of actives!

Why do these video always demo with scobblers like that & not full range music ? Wot, no bryston, but some shit integrated?
PMC make some truly dire speakers, along with B&W and the two of them I'm sure are in competition. PMC don't give a feck about the TL issues as IMF/TDLs John Wright used to and both brands have tweets which take off at frequencies I can now no longer appreciate apart from some tinsssel here and there.
I liked the MB1 and helped sell a pair (bi-amp passive, I sold the amps and my pal who's still an ehtusiastic small PMC dealer, sold the speakers). Remembering a show when the MB1 was being demonstrated by Pete Thomas himself, I remember he did admit to some subtle eq going on (they were passive and bryston driven) and they did sound great, but I didn't know enough then to ask what eq had been done, I think it was on the bass.
ATC's have always performed better (definitely in active form), PMC use a cheaper sourced dome (ATC's fault back then) and, although I like the Fenestria in a large space, it goes to pieces in a smaller room, the bass all over the shop!
Don't discount Harbeth just 'cos I'm whingeing about my 2007 era samples. the current ones are much livelier and better measuring too. Sure they're expensive, but so's effin' everything else these days
Rant over, with apologies. I really do wish the domestic PMCs were better, but they're not and deliberately so, sadly - ssssame asssss B&W s as a breed, which can strip paint when used in a typical modern bare room.

Dunno Dave i was assuming that a lot of Pro's use them. I know nothing about any of the domestic models apart from the FB1 i liked their slightly smooove sound.

The giant MB5 stack does get used here and there, but that's it really as far as I know.

Dave: How much would a pair of ATC 100ASL be worth these days?

What can I say, except that I 100% agree with you in every way. Planners get arsey about tiny interior details on some old house in the middle of nowhere, then they allow stuff like this.

Never seen that before and I think it’s genius! Something I’d like to own as a collector if I had space.
