Probably scope for an encyclopaedia on this one but I guess you have to start somewhere.
1. The first one has been building with me for a while: Folk who make endless tiny incremental changes to their hifi and claim each and every one to be a “game changer”, “amazing” or “night and day” etc. You’re usually talking about something like a new mains cable or even a bloody plug. FFS get real; if you didn’t know something had been changed you’d never even notice. And if the system you raved about a year ago has been transformed fifty times or more, then it must have been pretty shit in the first place or it now sounds ten times better than the original master lol. Over-hyping tiny tweaks really spoils hifi forums for me.
2. A related one is megabucks cartridges and phono stages. Once you get something that has the same level of resolution as a good CD player, you’re there. For me, an OC9 does this, so why spend thousands on cartridges and phono stages. It’s bollocks and willy waving AFAIC. Tiny differences costing thousands being sold as “game changers” again.
3. Finally, ve seen a few folk who seem to regularly claim their hifi suddenly sounds worse and then they start tearing it apart looking for a problem. FFS go read a book, watch telly or do something other than listen to music. 99% of the time the only thing that’s gone off is the listener and their mood.

When I was younger, I used to obsess way too much over my Hi-Fi. Realised it was all BS!
As always, trust your ears.

I LOVE the DL-304.
Never heard one in my life, but someone offered me one with a bent cantilever for nowt. It arrived with tne cantilever maybe 1 or 2 degrees off centre, presumably due to incorrect anti skate. It sold for £200 on eBay!
Every time I think of the thing, I have a rosy glow.

Not wishing to be rude. But how can you love the DL-304, without even hearing one? S.

You got it! I love making a profit, Been lie that since I was a tiny kid. I used to trade toys. Even used to buy them out of the local paper and turn a profit.

People how don't understand that audiophilia is actually a mental health issue who think that spending thousands more on their already mega high priced kit is suddenly going to lead them to the a utopian moment. Forgetting what Confusious said about the road to audio perfection, that it often just leads to another dead end and thinking they they are the one true expert and not understanding why when they just replaced their £1000 interconnects with some £2000 interconnects that it is only them who can hear the huge sound improvement. Me I just listen to the music, not the equipment.
