Um thats odd. Its deffo a USA pressing. I doubt very much a SRC would not have that on the dead wax, It cant be a USA 2nd press cos it would not have AT! Gotta be a variation of some sort maybe a 2nd run!! Im also going on the hand etched cat number.. but should have the USA cat on the label, UK cat on the rear of the cover.. See what mine is like when it arrives.

Mine doesn't say SRC. It say's AT. Getting pics from computer onto here. How? Easiest way is to use imgbb imgbb.com/You don’t even need an account. Just upload a pic and change the setting To “BB Code full linked”. Now just copy it and paste here.

Cheers, Bud. Finally got them on via computer, but your way seems more straightforward.
In due course I'll get some pics on of kit and music if anyone's remotely interested.

I gotta say it sounds fucking shocking compared to the U.K. press.
I've just done another A/B. The U.K. version is streets ahead.....I can appreciate Dave's problems in finding a good copy.
So, in conclusion, yes I've definitely heard a first edition and it's pants.

BSS has a tinny sound to it as apparently this is what they wanted! I may have the interview somewhere slipped in the sleeve of my finally good original vinyl pressing.

My sincere apologies if my reasonably spec'd Sondek running through Naim amplification doesn't quite suit the sensibilities of a Systemdek cretin owner. Having had a look around the Interweb thingy, it appears I'm not alone in my thoughts.

I wonder where the masters are held, UK or US? Back in the day with US artists and some UK ones too, we always looked for Stirling or TML cuts. Some artists sent metalwork over to the UK or Europe for pressing and these were ok. The Wall first vinyl was always best on TML cuts and I prefer his CD masterings too.

I might just not bother posting anymore cos what i post seems to be invisible to some people I wasn't just thinking of this album specifically. It's just ELP masters could wither be in the UK or the US for all I know and may not share the same metalwork! I know a bit about cutting from original masters as UK Decca did, but as for EMI, Island as I think ELP still were then, I honestly don't know (can you understand my confusion here?). If ELP masters were held in the UK then, the UK issue would naturally have 'originally' been the best I suspect.
Effin' vinyl nearly half a bloody century after these records came out. the Manticore issue of Trilogy sounded like a cassette source was used it's so dull and hissy! Genesis and the Who's Pete Townshend hold/held their master mixes and the record companies had copies I gather... Looks like it was a fine hunt through vaults for Robert Fripp to get all the King Crimson masters together and one or two contributory mix tapes were lost apparently.
Sorry for the thread crap Andr'e.
