Too much of a die hard early 70's fan of all things prog, anything that breaks out of that i have zero interest in. Sorry old chap.
I do actually have trouble coping with prog from 1973 as it is.

Was never keen on Rush. His voice doesn't bring musical vibes to my ears.

This is the easiest i can explain it Steve.
Take a long standing band like ELP.
Without venturing into 'LOVE BEECH' take the first four LP's 'ELP'/'TARKUS'/'PICTURES'/'TRILOGY'. Then take the last two LP's 'WORKS'/'WORKS II' & then take the middle album 'BRAIN SALAD SURGERY' The first four are the love affair i had with the band. the last two are a total & utter change, that is not the ELP sound i knew & loved, even though you can tell its them it may as well be a different band to me. Where as 'BSS' is a cross over into nothing as far as im concerned, its certainly not the early sound hence i will take it of leave it.
This can be said for a lot of those Prog Survivors like YES & GENESIS i feel exactly the same way about the first decade of their material.
This is why i always will make a big thing about 1969-1972 prog being the best. Where as many people don't see it like that but that is their choice
