I've found first issues sound better as I upgraded with more modern equipment but I do try to steer clear of the typical hi-fi sound produced by much of it. Also I have to say that some modern reissues (all analog) are the best I have heard particular albums. A lot of vintage especially speakers can sound a little too warm and veiled. I would suggest with turntables such as Thorens to try them with a Project speed box or similar. One speaker I used to own in the 70s was the RAM bookshelf. A model from the range was used to good effect in a cheapo system at Scalford some years ago. These are certainly worth looking out for. I think they would be better than HB1. An important factor with vinyl is having a good phono preamp and contrary to myth these have improved over those found in most vintage amps.
