Please for god sake please stop making records. Nothing worse. Bands have a short life span before they start changing the style & sound of their music. Era's change, Instruments change, Song writing style change, influences. THEY GET OLD etc all contribute to change. Gets to the stage where they are basically shit. One very good reason why im always working around eras of band output.
I also find that to say they are Professional musicians you would never think so in a million years. Its like they have progressivly gotten un proffesional.
Great do gigs for fans who are desperate but please no more new music.

I would certainly agree about 60s and 70s bands. I still wish some of them could still do a really good record. I thought The Who's recent album was worthy but it doesn't repeat the magic. Most of the old bands have not recorded in years and are almost their own touring tribute act with maybe one or two surviving original members. Also I doubt they could reproduce the sound even with good material due to digital recording and pro tools. I've got a feeling there may be a few releases from old artists coming up since they can't tour due to Covid.

Music & Fashion go hand in Hand. It is inevitable that bands will change direction in many ways.
What i find hard to swallow is fans that will buy absolutely everything to do with a band thats been on the go for 40/50 years. Surely you love a certain style/sound of a band at one period for them to sound nothing more than a completely different band 15 years down the Line.I just don't get it.
EMERSON, LAKE & PALMER 1970-73 is the band i like the most of all [Not a Fan cos a Fan is a Fanatic & im not Fanatical about them obviously]. The 'WORKS' stuff they did in '76/'77 is nothing like the earlier stuff in the way that Emerson switched to YAMAHA 'GX-1' a dominant factor to the new sound You can tell its them but the sound i love them for in the early years has gone which progressivly gets further away further down the line to a point where they are totally unlistenable to me.
This is obviously Progression, but thats the thing, Progression with movement in time & fashion & influence is the great killar.
