Ok then lads, my last post today. I have the system i will be keeping now ive gone full circle & today i recieved my last record on my list. Ive no real need to visit or post on forums anymore now. I shall not be back before any snidey comment remark to the contrary. Ive left many times before because people have wound me up returning after cool off period but this time i have no need to return. So chaps take care & hope you get thru this Pandemic safely. Ive been very controversial over the years & never do anything by the book, hopefully ive at least been a bit of a influence on some, if not o well. Prog on.. See you in a little while then

Hi, to anyone who is still reading, I think it really is time to call this forum to a close. It has been fun but there’s just not enough members or posters to make a go of it.
I’ve had a difficult last 18 months trying to escape the UK and I think I just want time to concentrate on moving abroad at all costs, which will likely mean ditching all my Hi-Fi too. Having tried to move around with all this stuff, it’s taught me that I want an uncluttered life and I need to spend far more time outdoors enjoying the real rather than the virtual world.
Take care and I hope anyone reading finds their happiness.

This: There’s a high likelihood that you will want these records again. You are nearly there with the vinyl. The Hi-Fi bits you can always pick up and drop as you see fit, but the records will cost you an arm and a leg, plus hundreds of painful and risky postal issues if you have to re-take those steps. The money you get today for your records will still be available tomorrow. It will Increase next year and again thereafter. There is no upside to jacking it in now rather than later.

I really hope Andre relents on some of his kit and all of his vinyl. His amp, matching tuner and speakers are good. His vinyl is an investment he won’t easily be able to repeat.
Whether he keeps the Rega or not isn’t important as there will be other options. Just don’t do anything hasty until an arm to fit the deck, or a deck with arm shows up.
My thoughts in the £100-200 range would be stuff like
LAD GAJ828 Revolver with Super Arm AR EB101 or legend Mantra/RB250 Sony PS4750 Sansui SR222 If you are vigilant, there are always bargains.

Apart from not touching any of those with a barge pole LOL Its not the deck i have an issue with its the none REGA Delrin feet boots i was having made that is clearly not happening, its kinda put a stop to finishing it how i wanted, everything else is done. Plus the fact the 'R200' in on the list of biggest piles of shite ive ever bought hence it wont be mounting it. So now the deck is stood doing nothing till i can afford a good arm which will probably be never. Ive already gotten into a row which had divorce written all over it already cos im a nasty mardy basterd when things dont go my way. 8/9 LP's is what im short off Might sound daft but they will set me back nearly £400. Ill keep the Rotel till i have them to give them a play see if they are ok i can then get rid of that Rotel at last. cos it really is now clutter i want shut off. Vinyl will just have to be stored for the foreseeable future.

I’m kinda having to just store all my stuff right now too, so I get your frustrations. I still don’t feel at ease in this listening Room and just don’t want to listen to music anymore.
Like you, it doesn’t take much to set me off. Today in the space of an hour, I had the Studio 20s which lasted exactly 19 mins including the time I took to make a coffee and answer the door to a courier. Then I had the postie leave me a single used DVD from a muppet conman seller who supposedly sold me a new box set. Finally I opened the garden store delivered by the courier to find it was malformed with loads of swarf and won’t fit together. Inevitably that has meant faffing around opening two eBay disputes.
Those Studio 20s are sand filled and weigh quite a bit. I have ligament damage to my right elbow so getting them into the room was done cautiously and with some effort. I was in such a rage by the time I removed them, I hoisted them up like they were weightless and practically ran to get them out of my sight.
I’m glad you avoided the nuclear option with your vinyl especially. I get how tempting it is to just push that button, but sometimes you just know the win down the line will override the relief you get from just trashing something. I desperately want rid of this POS bungalow and I also need Ref 3as back. Like you, I have zero patience, so I will just have to vent my frustrations on idiot eBay sellers who let me down until I can change the things really bugging me lol.

The only other deck i would throw this REGA in the nearest canal for is a Glass platter version of the old LOGIC 'TEMPO' with 'DATUM S' arm. Far superior. Even settle for the SYRINX 'LEONE' arm on it.

You mean the whole forum? It is pretty dead and will never grow to any size. I don’t really want to delete it though. Right now, I’m doing nothing with Hi-Fi or music, but I’m sure I will again after I move. There’s also music to talk about, especially for the three prog lovers, I guess.
