Proposed Budget live from the Commons. Most entertaining one ive seen for years. Jeremy Hunt actually seems to have a sense of humour
Good one - Money into AstraZeneca & manufacturing plant Liverpool
Gotta say this tho the Labour are acting like Children, Dept speaker must have given then half a dozen bollockings

It’s always the same pantomime with the Commons. They are almost all like children; and spoiled ones at that. The whole thing needs reform. Get shot of the Lords too.

I thought this one was worse for behaviour to be honest westie, than I remember. More than just 'lively.' Tax on vapes at last, fuel left alone for now, but the 2p NI is worthless to the likes of me - oh yeah, the forthcoming triple lock raise is great, but I'll be taxed even more on my other income trickles as the threshold stays the same as HMRC works on the total income but has to ignore the government pension. Good news for me is a forty quid drop per month in energy payments as told by my energy supplier, so I shouldn't complain

They will drop NI instead of Taxes cos its better for them to do. ofc the NI drop for workers is no good for OAP's.

I’m completely against cutting NI as it’s supposed to fund pensions and the NHS. It’s all sleight of hand anyway because they will make far more in revenue than they are giving back in NI due to the 5 year freeze on tax thresholds. But what happens then? They can’t freeze tax thresholds forever and so they will have to raise taxes or cut public services. Of course for the Tories, this is all a “scorched earth” policy to make it impossible for Labour to fund public services or investment. Basically they are shafting all of us in order to have a chance of power in two elections time. Now that’s the sort of child-like behaviour I’m really worried about.
I never look at a budget in terms of whether I will be enter or worse off. The politicians and media try to encourage us to do this and it’s just another manipulation. What we need to be looking at is whether the country will be better off, and that includes growth, debt and public services. Surely these things matter more than a few quid a week one way or the other?

Watched the last episode of Hamish Macbeth a bit earlier today. Still love that show. Isobel and Jock are both adorable, albeit in different ways.
