I find it amazing how many sellers use utterly useless record mailers that give very little protection againts the corner of the record sleeves getting dmaged in transit. The kind of mailers in the below link give a massive amount of protection due to the large card overlap that will take a large impact without going anywhere near the LP sleeve, postman proof, but sellers wont use them because they are expensive compared to the junk they use. Profit takes preference over customer satisfaction, nothing new there tho. Ive just recieved an LP that was posted out brand new for it to arrive with a slightly damaged corners because of the pressure applied cause by the bubble wrap the bafoon used to try & make the mailer more reliable. Utter counter productive behaviour. Because so many seller use junk mailers it makes it extremely hard for me to buy LP's without climbing the walls waiting for the worse. These are the kind of mailers that they should use. There is also an art to packing used records other than the best mailers but thats for another topic. www.priorydirect.co.uk/cp03008-colompac-extra-strong-book-wrap.html

Haven't ordered vinyl for many years (last was a 12" System 7 single and that appeared to come from Steve Hillage himself in perfect condition), but our student son needed some thick text books for his studies and one or two were ordered new, arriving with corder damage due to thin card packing and being dropped on the corners. When a book costs thirty five quid or more it ain't funny! He shrugged it off as once he'd started using them they'd obviously be 'used,' but there's a principle here...

The mailers Amazon use are as good as anything (provided the packers use them). Usually they get double packed in a large box. I recycle these for selling records and had no complaints. I keep a big pile of them and others for re-use. One company that uses even stronger mailers is Burning Shed. Diverse use the right type but for some reason switched to a soft cardboard which doesn't survive a corner drop. I've had a number of casualties from them including a set of MFSL Dire Straits sent by Parcel Force. Ended up driving over to Newport to exchange them.

Yes the Amazon one are pretty much simular to the ones i linked. Apparently you have to tick the little box on checkout to ensure your goods are packed even though i never do but get them packed most times. Utter bollox. I love Amazon mainly because of the return & replace facility but cant stand the pretend names on live chat that just post pre prepared answers.

Yes I tend to ignore that as they almost always come in some sort of packaging.
