My tastes have definitely changed. I still like a good slice of prog when I'm in the mood, but for the past few years my go-to style of music tends to be of the Dreampop variety with bands such as Hem, High Violets, Mazzy Star and Field Music. I'm not quite sure if you'd class Lana Del Rey as being Dreampop, but I tend to play her stuff a lot too.

Mines quite hard to pin down. Lots of stuff I listen to has American Folk leanings, but then I like electronica too, especially if it is Latin influenced. Anything that makes a racket is completely off the agenda for me. Metal, punk, Rock, anything cacophonous is out too. But then I also detest the sort of swing shite Buble churns out All those screaming fecking trumpets make me want to strangle him.
Basically I can’t hear anything good about loud and offensive noise. I do like rhythm though.

I do like rhythm though. Never mind the music Stereos that scream do my head in. I never have the stereo on loud cos i just dont like loud music. Punk aint music btw LOL Why i go prog & general rock music before 1973, cos about 1973 Prog was over compicated bad recorded shite. Not realy sure what prog bands were doing come 1973 cos it wernt great & all i can see is they were looking a right bunch of pricks. Heavy Rock was just the same, Great upto 1972 then a total change Puzzles me how album like Darks Side of the Moon' & Wish You Were here, get voted as classic albums year after years. Are they deaf or just tasteless. I might listen to stuff like that every two years but i can promise you it never reaches the end of the album before its off.

I'm in. I love The Free Design. I bought some of their records when I was last in the States.

I know you don't like CD's, but there's a really nice 'Best of Free Design' available, (I have the vinyl's too btw). It's a great selection, and the SQ is delectable.

I have thousands of Prog/Psych CD i put on FLAC but ill never get the time to transfer them to cassette. I have the first six Free design Albums i think. i know theres one missing maybe the last one they did but i probably didnt bother for a reason..
Theres a Canadian sunshine pop band called The Poppy Family you might like them.. They only made the two LP's Susan Jacks was their singer/

I don't have a staple style of music these days. It used to be mainly west coast rock (Eagles, Steely Dan, Jackson Brown. Tom Petty) plus UK bands like Who, Police, Dire Straits etc. Also PF and Genesis. Usually a mix of some contemporary acts and stuff that is new to me. A lot of female vocals and some prog. Lana Del Ray, PJ Harvey, Steve Wilson. Also some of the new 60s Jazz reissues. Too much vinyl to need to revisit anything frequently. If I revisit anything it's through a new reissue and then compare with original if I have a copy. Delving into reissues of 90s music occasionally (La's ,Stone Roses, EBTG). Of course occasional revisits to Fabs and Stones, Doors, JA, Dylan.
