Anyone know which plonker invented the idea of making records from coloured vinyl & the even bigger birk that decided on taking it a step further by adding speckles & just plain ugly mess of colours? I just dont get why these people think we are children? A lot of people take their record serious loike, the last thing they want is a issue looking like shit not to mention noisey playback. Fair doo's if its available for a limited special edition in this shit but for Gawd sake please release the buk of the issues in standard vinyl. I just boil when i see this shite. Just tells me Vinyl these days is a Novelty fad

I wouldn’t want it. I’d rather just have plain old black any day.

Unfortunately coloured or clear vinyl is Hobson's choice with some releases especially on Record Store Day. Sometimes they are OK but usually more noisy than black vinyl. It's not a new thing. Splattered vinyl was used for the US version of Hounds Of Love and Dave Mason's Alone together even further back. I think one of the Curved Air albums initially was on a picture disc.

They then get a proper re-issue for the first time but you then get confronted with this shit instead of releasing LP's as close to the original as possible.

Can't understand them doing this as the buyers are likely to be 60 years old rather than 16! The people doing these at the labels obviously haven't a clue.
