Finally got my head around these present issues. I have all the Panegyric pressings from 2010-2015, these present ones are Remixes of the albums with addition to the 'Rarities' LP in the old 'Young Persons Guide To' sleeve that i personally was not happy about using, the expanded 2LP Live 'U.S.A' album, an alternative 'Lark's Tongues' LP & a 10" of "Cat Food.
Sorry chaps but no way on earth im i buying that lot again for something that is found on the silver discs as bonus tracks. They just wont get played cos your always gonna go for the standard LP when you want the play the album, im not one of those fans that has to have something for havings sake.. What us 1970's Crimbo fans are crying out for are the best Collectors clubs live stuff on Vinyl, stuff like the awesome Summit Studios, Denver 1972 recording..

They confused everything by repressing using the SW remixes. I prefer the original mixes on the CD/DVDA in any case. Original mix vinyl reissues sound best short of paying a lot for mint originals. Not saying SW remixes are bad but a bit more precise and digital. There is an interview with SW which goes into all the details of his remixing and his views on vinyl v digital on Analog Planet. He uses active Genelec monitors for his stereo and 5.1 mixes. www.analogplanet.com/content/bob-lefsetz-podcast-interview-steven-wilson

I used to take Sound on Sound i remember his studio that was nothing unusual just a spare room in the house. tbh if the JETHRO TULL LP's were just of the standard album i wouldnt have bought the present ones, but its all there is available.

I think he did the best job on Tull reissues which is a good thing since they haven't done original mixes to vinyl. I tend to prefer mostly the remixes but 1st press Stand Up and One Step Aqualung are the winners here. Interesting thing SW claims he stopped Anderson and Fripp from reimagining parts they did not like and thought they could have done better at the time, pointing out rightly fans want the original as they have always heard it.

I didnt like what he did with ELP 'TARKUS', Sounded odd to me. However ive listen to the TULL's a couple times now & i cannot hear very much different from the original pressings, Its not my idea to listen to albums that are not 100% as original, but these differences are so tiny that a casual listener would never know, im happy to listen to these all the time.. They certainly sound good.
