Im short of 'Minstrel in the Gallery' & 'Too Old to Rock 'n' Roll' These were no that popular LP's with no chance getting hold of a copy. People are like wanting a kings ransom for a Still new copy of 'Minstrel'
Regarding the 'Too Old to Rock 'n' Roll' There is two different versions of this Album, The original recorded album & a Re-recorded album called the TV special soundtrack. This was re recorded due to circumstances for the LWT show Tull appeared. This was actually a Ltd edition 2016 Record store day release. Im not sure if the original album got a steve wilson Vinyl release at the time!

The only version that got SW release on vinyl is from the TV show. These albums were quite cheap up until recently. Actually I sold a copy of Too Old To Rock And Roll maybe a year or so ago though it was Ex condition at a stretch (graded vg+). Had a job getting a decent price (what I paid for it). Yellow covers nearly always have faded spines.

Ive got a 1st issue of the original album in minto condition, mine has slight fading of the yellow down the side. I was just wanting a new edition as ive been impressed with the rest of these Steve Wilson LP's. But if its only the TV Special that was released recently i suppose im stuck with what i have.

Im short of 'MINSTREL IN THE GALLERY' & 'TO OLD TO ROCK 'N' ROLL' 40th anniversary. I don't see me ever dropping on them as New condition now without getting fleeced so decided to let the rest go. Full set or nothing with me, also ive had around eight different copies of the present 'LIVING IN THE PAST' USA version compilation [Why the UK version was not re-released is beyond me] & everyone has a fault on side 3 which is seriously irritating me that its there. Its not the end of the world because i cannot accept JETHRO TULL as a Prog band anyway.

It beggars belief what people are asking for just OOP or possibly awaiting repress reissues. You would never pay near to that for an original first pressing. As reported widely something strange has happened with vinyl prices since the pandemic started. It's fuelled by flippers I'm sure as is a bubble just waiting to burst. This madness has been apparent in collectables and in housing market. Likely these prices are US led due to stimulus cheques being given to Americans who don't need the cash. Some of it defo been going into buying hi-fi and records.

In all honesty Classic i really cannot see these Tull 40th Anniversary getting another run. Its not just the Record repress its the booklet that needs reprinting which i found that they were not charging enough for each release IMHO. Like i say im not bothered now, Tull were not that much a fav for me being into stuff like ELP YES, GENESIS, CRIMSON etc I wont loose sleep over not having them & ill go to hell if im going to pay what these cuckoos are asking.
However what i have noticed is a shortage of used old equipment & a lot of greedy idiots selling stuff at 80% more than the going price. Clearly a lot of people are very short of money now trying to fleece the more fortunate with these silly opportunist prices.
News flash people don't do it cos its not the last one in existence what ever it is.

News flash people don't do it cos its not the last one in existence what ever it is. They did SW Aqualung twice. Second time in a hard book format but otherwise the same. I have both but likely will sell one eventually, especially if daft prices are going to be the norm. Yes the book is fantastic for this price of record. I'm sure they made money but that would point to other single LPs being overpriced. They don't all go up. To my annoyance I have an EMI 100th Anniv (all analogue) Band On The Run which appears to be a lot less than 5 years ago when I bought it. That Buckingham Nicks album doesn't seem to have increased above record fair prices in the 90s. Anything I want in the last decade i have bought on release as at least till recently any vinyl was limited to some extent. Just suddenly seems to be several times more buyers. Most of it I don't want to sell anyway but recently sold the 2009 Stones Box and The Doors Box since most of it I have duplicated in as good or better quality. Also got rid of most of the Friday Music titles as generally they are crap sounding. BTW selling on Ebay never have obtained the top prices asked for on Discogs.

I still say the resurgence of Vinyl is a Fad & truly don't think it will last much longer with these people. The idea is an industry that has no other format to make money out of, goes around in circles with a format that is made to be hip, spew out as many titles as they can while they can. However the amount of utter shit being re-issued that should be banned from anyone's ears is beggars belief & the lack of quality control + Ten bob re mastering engineers with nasty monitors creating un listenable mixes really need to take a fuck off tablet.
Steve wilson needs to be the premier Re mastering Guru then everything will sound good.
