Despite the variable quality of reissues there have been some worthy to outstanding examples. Some OOP and very pricey.
Affordable and still available.
Pink Floyd catalog (2016 -) Digital source but cut by bernie Grundman. Mostly excellent if not generally up to originals (More and Relics better) - quiet surface not typically found on original Harvest.
King Crimson catalog (2012 - present) Sourced from tapes approved by Robert Fripp (cut at Loud Mastering). Also did these as SW remixes recently so orignal mixes may be harder to find.
XTC catalogue (2016? - present) - Some titles are from analogue tape (certainly English Settlement). Again From Loud Mastering.
Pressing quality of the later two mostly flawless (maybe one return from whole catalogue). Pink Floyd can be variable and had a number of bad copies.
Jethro Tull catalogue (2013- present) - digital remixes by Steven Wilson. Great sound but variable pressing quality from Optimal.
Kate Bush - generally excellent sound often better than originals (frustrating changes by Kate to Hounds Of Love and Arial). Arial and 50 Words For Snow had pressing issues.
Genesis- originally in box sets (2012-2015). From remixes and half speed mastered. Recut again half speed (new Abbey Rd cutting chain) over last couple of years. The remixes sound fine to me on vinyl format. Some titles improve on early pressings.
Some available but confusing catalogue of reissues -
The Kinks - The titles supervised by Andrew Sandoval and cut by Kevin Gray is what you want. Mono individual editions (US) initially followed by the excellent Mono Box which is OOP and fetching big money. Recent reissues in stereo of Village Green, Arthur and Lola are excellent quality.
Others mainly OOP.
The Stones 2016 Mono Box (from DSD or hi res) and the 2014 Beatles Mono (AAA). Unfortunately unobtainium for sensible money. I really blame Hoffman Forum especially Beatles Mono (box and seperate) which where easily available for about 4 years until panick stoked up.
Yes - pretty sparodic. A few titles were done by either Chris Bellman or Kevin Grey but appear to be OOP. Chris Bellman cut of 'Close to The Edge' probably better than original pressing. KG did Fragile and Drama (2016). Also there is an earlier cut of Fragile by Steve Hoffman and KG for Analog Productions (2007). Best Fragile - MFSL 45 rpm One Step (2019). Would also recommend the SW remix box set( appears recently OOP?) but not Friday Music releases.
Going back furthur and fetching high prices the Classic Records titles from late 90s to 2010. Gabriel Era Genesis (except Trespass), Who catalogue up to 'Who Are You', Led Zeppellin Catalogue. Peter Gabriel catalogue. Mike Oldfield / Tubular Bells. Procol Harum (first album), JT Aqualung. Later recently reappeared as Analog Productions UHQR. Rumoured to be doing Who's Next UHQR.
