I’m done with racks. They are ugly and they spoil a room. If your room isn’t harmonious, it’s hard to relax. If you don’t relax, you aren’t receptive to music.
It’s good to see some nice designs coming out which help you have music without turning your room into a hifi shop. I really like this for instance:

With a few hacks, I’m sure you could integrate most speakers into something visually attractive. I may not go the full speaker integration route, but I really would like a console style unit to house my CD player, phono stage and amp, with deck either on top or recessed. There are plenty candidates out there but they are pricey.

Once I get settled I will likely either visit IKEA and see what I can hack, or see the local furniture guy who has a workshop and will make whatever you want for not a lot. I’ll paste any inspiration I find in this thread. Feel free to chip in
