A better idea would be to buy a vintage radiogram / console and modify it to take modern TT and electronics or just go to work on an Ikea sideboard. Try and find one of the better Dynatron models that came with a Lenco deck.

Try and find one of the better Dynatron models that came with a Lenco deck. The thing is, I tend to prefer a modern take on retro. I’m also very partial to white, which is rare or really expensive in period kit. I may end up with an IKEA item that I hack though. I want it to fit the space and the kit in terms of proportion, so I may need to get something made up. I will need to get creative with the speakers though, because I still want them separate but I don’t want them on ugly stands and I don’t want to mod them. Half the fun is in searching for ideas and thinking how to adapt them. If I can do it cheaply and make it look cool, that will be an added bonus.

Bought one of these in white stain finish. The two up rights ive marked on can be left out when building. Im putting the Rotel Reciever in one opening, the Rotel Cassette Deck in the other. Record in the openings in the bottom of the unit [Wooden stops at the back to match]. Turntable sat on the top. Lamp by the side of it. Job done. Im having a Glass top made for it to protect it. & order an adjustable pair of feet that match for under the unit to support the weight of the records. www.ikea.com/gb/en/p/hemnes-console-table-white-stain-00251814/

This is one thing I’m so looking forward to once I get all the moving hassle out of the way. I think it’s so important if you want to enjoy your listening. Your space needs to be harmonious. White is still the way to go for me.

Like you, I don’t like records sat low down. I get angry bending forward with the rush of blood. It really makes me feel like I need to choose quickly and I get ratty. Then it puts me off listening,

I also dont have control of ultimate care pulling & placing them back, not to mention a clear view of finding what i want straight away.

I’m still looking for a solution I like. At least I have some proper flight cases for travel

Up to yet i have one option in the 'String' modular wall system As long as i can have the Receiver & cassette deck at just below head height when stood up & the records so i can get to them without bending down is all i require, Cassettes in the drawers below the Records. housecraft.uk/string-shelving-units

I need low line furniture to suit the room.,the only way to have records and deck on the same level is to go long. I’ll wait til I’m in the space.

If i can get speakers as small as i want they will be going on there too. Bollox to how your apparently suppose to site speakers LOL. Went to buy some Celestion 'DL4 the other day just down the road from me, they are not that big but still bigger than what i want.
