I guarantee it won't be plain sailing. Either: * One, or both of them will ask me to 'lend' them the money to buy it - in which case I may as well buy it myself, or * They'll leave it too fooking late to order, and demand will outstrip supply. The guy at Burning Shed reckons that the pre-orders have been massive on this one.

They need to be issuing the Live Pocono Raceway, July 1972 on black vinyl instead of that shite they released a bit back.

I really can't understand your concerns here - both the 'Pocono' and 'Waterloo' albums are brilliant pressings, and the coloured vinyls add a new dimension to them - that's been the whole point of RSD releases, just to create that something that's 'different', most of which have been great. On the (admittedly few) black vs coloured vinyls i've been able to compare there's been no discernable audio difference between them....in fact, in one particular case the coloured vinyl was vastly superior.
The market seems to agree too.....coloured vinyl limited edition runs are more highly sought after, and hold, if not increase, their value more.

My problem is the Coloured vinyl. Kids & Fadders buy that shite. They are a bigger joke than CD to me. I just want nothing to do with it all. I have my own personal view on the whole RSD thing as it is. I saw this crap creep in years ago as a one off with LP's such as HAWKWIND 'LEVITATION [Blue Vinyl], TANGERINE DREAM 'FORCE MAJEURE' [Clear Vinyl] etc ..but at least they offered them as a Ltd Edition option to the regular Black Vinyl.. Are they worth more than the regular edition all those years down the line, No they aint.

Thing is Steve if i start buying sets like this for the live stuff im potentially setting off something costly that could be an on going thing because stuff is always getting released on Vinyl, usually in sets to cash in on. Theres this ELP set & the 'FANFARE' set before with the Italian live stuff, There are those BLACK SABBATH box sets, DEEP PURPLE overseas LP's. on & on running into a grand. Im having to fork out nearly £60 for the DEEP PURPLE 'CONCERTO & ORCHESTRA' cos its only got a re-issue as a 3LP expanded set & not a single LP like originally released. The crazy 9LP Box set of DEEP PURPLE 'MADE IN JAPAN' with the three consecutive nights two Osaka gigs & the Tokyo gig.
Just mad & you gotta just draw a line & put them out your mind i think.. Because its basically wanting for wants sake. Buy the LP's from the original discography back in the day & be done like im doing, that way you can't buy anything else cos obviously there wasnt anything else released. LOL.
Might sound mad but if the DEEP PURPLE 'CONCERTO set has the original LP in it as it was released & the other stuff is on separate two discs, ill dump the other discs. Because the original LP is all i want. Costly thing but i cant ever see it getting re-issued again in my lifetime. I did this with the VAN DER GRAAF GENERATOR 'AEROSOL GREY MACHINE' set, Kept the LP fucked the rest of the shite in the set off, never even read the booklet.
