Yep, I figure here is an easy-peasy post that know-nothing audiofools can get off on - and contribute!
For them wot bin isolated on an island last whiles, "Get Back" is the miniseries (3 episodes of 2-3 hours length) where you are a fly on the wall apperceiving the making of The Beatles Let It Be album.
Peter Jackson spent 4 years trawling through 60 hours-worth footage and 150 hours audio that went into making of Lindsay Hogg's '70 documentary,Let It Be.
Unlike the Let It Be film -where Hogg seemed to concentrate on imminent breakdown and clash, Jackson paints a picture with more band joy and less disharmony.
Most material featured in Let It Be was not utilized in the Jackson "Get Back" version.
An "immersive look at the band's creative process."
(And Disney took a blind eye to the swearing.)
So, wot youse think? Is 8 hours overkill...in these times of shutdown where binge-watching becomes the norm.

I hate The Beatles even more than I detest Prog. Probably on a par with The Beach Boys as the worst band of the last century. I couldn’t last 8 seconds listening to their shite, let alone 8 hours. If they were starting out today they wouldn’t get a gig in a local pub.

Their character is pristine and established.
I begin to wonder your faculties are not in danger of altogether losing their balance.

I was waiting for the Blu Ray but may have to get a months Disney subscription. 8 hours in one go is a lot. The problem with bands today is they didn't have to spend hours every day honing their skills in Hamburg. Beatles were superb musicians and song writers who could play anything as they had to to survive. Way above anyone you would find playing in a pub today. So like many old bands they had masses of experience under their belt before they recorded anything. Westie have you ever seen the Roof Top performance? They hadn't played live for years and they were note perfect with no stage or in ear monitors. Beatles will never be surpassed in rock music history.

THE BEATLES were the best that no other band has come close to. Its been nearly 60 years since furst fuzzy & still no takers LOL
People get cover version done of their music but not in the scale of BEATLES covers that have been done is astronomical. You even had bands like WE ALL TOGETHER that based their sound on THE BEATLES/BADFINGER to good effect. THE BEATLES were the most influential band ever.

To me they have all the talent of Steps, Little Mix or McFly. I haven’t liked or even appreciated a single song. The only band I’ve heard that I can see an influence is Oasis, and they are equally Neanderthal low-lifes.

Westie: the recording angel takes note of your blasphemy. I would take on the responsibility of enlightening you on the absolute worth of The Beatles, but that would consume pages upon pages and anyways that is not what this topic is about. Let us just say that your attempt to deceive others that The Beatles were of little account is beyond the pale.

I get you don't like them but quit the Hyperbole.

It’s not like you have to seek them out, is it? You sound like DSJR in terms of not accepting other folks right to like what they like and dislike what they choose too. If you see no merit in rap or opera, are you ignorant also? Or are your tastes just right and mine wrong? I’ve heard that one before. If I see no merit in their music, that’s my taste and my right, so feck off. As far as The Beatles are concerned, all I see is a naked emperor,.

It's not your dislike I'm referring to it's your musical comparison and analysis of them being in the same category as Steps and Little Mix. 'Bands' that do not involve playing an instrument, musical composition and created by a manager or label. There is absolutely no comparison if you knew anything unless you are joking in some way. I may not like a lot of music but I don't dismiss it of hand and liken it to girl/boy bands unless that is what it is. Your entitled to dislike anything , no skin off my nose but don't slag of probably the greatest and most popular musicians ever on the planet because they are not to your taste. Perhaps some analysis of what you find bad about them would be appropriate. Some people seem to like their tunes played by more MOR artists, same with Dylan.

I can and will slag them off at every opportunity, so don’t try telling me what I can and can’t do. It’s this view that you cannot diss them that I rail against most. Loads of people think they are utter shite but it’s become unacceptable to say so without the self appointed music police telling you off. I’ve already covered what I don’t like but you kicked off then too. From memory you took offence at me saying their music always sounded out of tune and their lyrics were babyish. None of them can sing either. So that’s their ability to compose music, write lyrics and also to sing. Hard to see how there anything else in there to salvage AFAIC.
