I’m getting more and more astonished at the Extremism in the Tory Party. Hunt falling at the first hurdle and Tugendhat only just clinging on in the second doesn’t bode well for moderates.
Meanwhile that “Bad Enoch” creature is up to 49 votes. No experience of anything, horrible attitudes and uglier than a hippo’s arse. That’s before we get to the extremely potty political views.
Then there’s Mordaunt getting 83 votes despite almost zero experience of government and her former boss saying she was so shit at her job, he asked for her to be removed. She’s made some gaffs on “woke” stuff, folk have asked to be removed from her comically shit video, she used the word “cock” 5 times in a parliamentary speech when she lost a bet, and she’s went on a telly show in a swimsuit (looking like sack of spuds BTW). She has all the hallmarks of a superficial attention-whore. Her only attraction is that she is unknown and therefore relatively untainted. Just give her time, she’s already making gaffes. Given that only 1% more people recognised her over a fictitious candidate says it all about her popularity.
Truss is as mad as ever, and just as unstable as she tried to become a Thatcher impersonator. And finally, Sunak, the tax dodger who can’t decide where he is resident or Domiciled, and propped Boris up for months whilst he set up his campaign.
Best of all we get a tiny amount of Hyacinth Bucket and Victor Meldrew wannabes choosing who we get next as PM. Lots to look forward to then. Special thanks go to all those who voted for Boris when it was clear he’d end up shagging and lying his way out of office long before the public realised their grave mistake and got the chance to boot him.

I felt Sunak was part of the problem, especially now as he seems to have helped plot Boris' downfall while as you say, setting up his stall quietly in the background A comment from someone I know - 'Atrocious ghouls the lot of 'em! As I said Anarchism looks ever more appealing...' Sadly, I include the Labour lot currently here as well...

Politically it’s a really sorry picture. The big names and big intellects are gone from Parliamentary politics. Standards of behaviour are down the toilet too, just like the rest of Britain.
If we end up with Truss or Mordaunt, it will be worse than Sunak AFAIC.
Mordaunt is clearly lazy, dumb and gaffe-prone. She’s also woefully inexperienced. Britain has a long dark road ahead and we can’t afford to have a learner driver at the wheel.
Truss is just unstable and out to pretend she’s Thatcher. I hated Thatcher with a vengeance, but she was far more clever than Truss. We’d be a laughing stock again, just like we were with Boris.
As for “Bad Enoch”. Everyone knows she hasn’t a hope, even if she wasn’t a horrible nut job with mad ideas. In reality she’s only got the support of a few extremist nutters on the far right. It’s all about the Tories pretending to be “inclusive”. The idea that Tory voters would embrace a black candidate is laughable. It’s their racist, xenophobia over immigration that’s led to their only real policy: Brexit. And surprise surprise, we have more immigration that ever after Brexit under the Tory government that delivered it.
The Tories would be annihilated if “Bad Enoch” won because so many of their core voters would stay at home and they know it. David Williams “Maggie” character in Little Britain got it dead right when it comes to Tory Party members,

It'll probably be Sunak despite being fined as Boris was and being hundreds of millions rich apparently. More years of austerity to come as he reverts to Philip Hammond mode to pay the Covid debt back... Not all Brexit voters were racist and many of us see the effect on ever more green land being carved up for housing (three thousand new homes around here apparently and no schools, dentists or other infrastructure facilities for them) because we're so damned overcrowded! We simply cannot take more here - and I don't give a flying stuff about what race or colour they are! Also, I still don't believe Brussells rule would be any better - the EU rulers are even more self serving and out of touch than I believe 'our lot' are!

I agree we are overpopulated, and we are far from alone. I don’t see this as primarily an immigration issue though.
Surely a far more effective means of population control is to stop giving incentives to breed to those who don’t contribute. If you can’t afford to pay to bring up your own children, you shouldn’t be breeding. People think it’s their absolute right to pop out as many children as they please, and they see it as the taxpayers responsibility to pick up the tab. It’s all about their individual freedoms and never about their responsibilities.
This was one of my biggest beefs with Blair and Brown. They have away hundreds of billions to people in tax credits. There was no ceiling for payments, so you could literally get rich by popping out a child a year. You could also get a big house and all your housing costs met courtesy of the State. There was next to no scrutiny so we were paying unbelievable sums out to overseas fraudsters. And there was no appetite to recover any of the fraudulent sums when Cameron came to power.
I’d happily favour targeted immigration as a means of attracting skilled and educated people into Britain. Why pay to feed, clothe and educate millions of degenerates sprogs when you can simply poach the best from other countries? Take the cream and leave the dregs.

Looks like the Hospitals are in trouble again with Covid patients
'STAY AT HOME - SAVE THE NHS' They dare to come with that one this time they will get no where with the public. Ive an idea why not sort the NHS out.
Its a bit like bad floods & Snow. They never sort it out for the next time it happens.

It still takes my breath away that people can’t see the hypocrisy. It’s like they have had their brains and memories removed. The very same disease they were hiding in terror from is still killing and disabling, and yet they act like it’s gone.
200,000 dead and counting. 2 million and counting are still disabled by it. If nothing else, doesn’t it make ECONOMIC SENSE to bring back mask wearing in public spaces, shops and public transport? Nah, we rather wait until the country is paying multiple billions in NHS costs and disability benefits. Not to mention all the poor victims and their relatives.
People just don’t realise how malleable their perceptions are. You just need to look at all the shite spread about vaccines by anti-vaxxers on social media. Or the Big Lie in the USA. Trump lost by 8 million votes and yet we had armed morons storming the Capitol. It was reported before the election that he’d try and declare victory before the postal ballots were counted, and then he’d claim massive fraud and refuse to go. Trump even has a long history of claiming election fraud when previous results didn’t go his way. And yet people still fell for it. Many are still falling for it.
You don’t have to look to far for other examples: Anyone remember Weapons of Mass Destruction? Implausible nonsense exposed as bare faced lies at the time, and yet the masses still fell for it. George W Bush had only stood for President to get even with Saddam for his father. He said so before standing. All the signs were there and yet the public still fell for it.
Look at all the Brexit lies. £35 million extra per week for the NHS? Take back control of our borders? Those both went well, didn’t they. And yet folk are still delusional. The political debate can’t even raise the prospect that it was a mistake yet, because the population are still working their way through the 7 stages of grief.
Today we have Penny Mordaunt. Two months ago, her name wasn’t being spoken anywhere. Suddenly, out of nowhere we heard whispers of her as a potential candidate. She had the same twin attractions as John Major. Nobody knew who she was or what she stood for. And other People “in the know” were whispering her name. It became the “savvy” thing to do to promote her as a future PM, and so others started parroting what they heard. Soon we had a buzz going and now she has momentum.
Are we being played yet again. Of course we are. She’s achieved nothing, she clearly has the ability to change her views according to what folk want to hear, and those who know her say she’s lazy and inept. Her nickname is “Part Time Penny”. If this was a proper job and they wrote a person spec, she wouldn’t even get an interview.
Some press Baron or cartel somewhere is clearly backing her. She is nothing more than a puppet. Just like John Major, she is a stooge who is designed to keep the Tories in power because it suits the rich to have a continuation and extension of policies that favour them.
The majority will fall for the same thinly disguised card trick they fell for before. Penny will probably pose in a Union Jack swimsuit or Spice Girls dress and Britain will love her just long enough to give the Tories another 5 years in a snap election.
By the time the majority discover the deception, it will be too late. We will have another unpopular leader and then another staged popularity contest to replace her. Rinse and repeat, rinse and repeat. Sadly I have zero faith in the mental capacity of the vast majority, so this is our political future ad-infinitum.

Apologies for the length of the rant, but I genuinely feel like I’m living in a version of Huxley Brave New World where the Epsilons have been allowed to proliferate and their votes now hold sway over the tiny minority with functioning brains. It’s terrifying and depressing in equal measure.

It’s terrifying and depressing in equal measure. Amazes me how as thick as pig shit people really are. Not sure it's lack of intelligence Andr'e, but more self serving self centredness, if you see what I mean. I can give examples, but it's now my view that all of us are looking inwards to our own shit and couldn't give a stuff to what's actually going on out there - you see it in supermarkets where a shopper (male or female, it doesn't matter) stops their trolley in the middle of the isle to pick or browse labels and peeps behind can't get past. If you ask politely, they'll move said trolley with a kind of sheepish apology (at least they do here in the far east), but most of the time they're totally oblivious to everyone else around them... How can you expect these people (again, both sexes) to really think about politics. My pal tried to engage his female hairdresser in comments about it all and she told him she didn't bother with things like that (Brexit and politics in general) - my retort was to tell him to find someone else as her 'air-head couldn't care less attitude' may translate to her work as well...

Your right but people are thick.
Back to masks & social distancing. Well the distancing, i do that every day of my life anyway even before the pandemic because i know what disease spreading twits humans are. But the Gov have lied & broke the rules so much that im afraid they have caused a massive amount of damage where as people are just going to ignore any rules put forward. plus the fact even though its clear that the illness is still fife, people will still work on the fact that they have had three jabs and truly believe that is all that is required to save them hence they will just get on with everyday life no worries.two fingers to it all.

All it would take is for the news channels and papers to show endless stories of deaths and people suffering from long covid and they’d all be scurrying like rats again. It will never happen though because the rich don’t care about the lives of working people. We are all cannon fodder to them. The have Ukraine as their manufactured distraction and now they have a Tory “beauty contest” that will last the Summer and promote the chosen one.
