I have this unusual first Uriah Heep album, "very 'eavy, very 'umble". Ever seen a BROWN Vertigo label? No swirl, just uniform brown with letters in black.Laminated but not foc. Label says "BIEM" which doesn't say much except it could come anywhere from Europe.Looking closely on back cover it says something like "Fonotone, Haifa" so it must be early '70 Israeli press.
(Also got a beautiful shape ,laminated foc ,title is just "very 'eavy" German press. Must be German cos its says GEMA/BIEM)

BIEM does not mean its exclusively from Europe. However you got a picture of that label cos Originally this LP got a normal Swirl Vertigo label Pressing over Israel. I used to have a copy from Holland on a Palm tree Island label.
Are you sure its vertigo Israel issued HEEPSs on a Brown Island label!

When that's done. I just picked up this 2015 edition of URIAH HEEP - LOOK AT YOURSELF from HMV. This is a very disappointing representation of the LP sleeve. Not die cut hence no mirror. Just plain old printed cover. Why they can't do these things right & charge a couple quid more is beyond me. whether its £22 or £24 people will still buy it. Thank god its not like the European version was with the female eyes that would have been crap.

Uriah Heep - same minutia (wot only a progmasterman knows):
Canadian press of first lp has one track from "Salisbury" which replaces the orig. "Lucy's Blues" track
German press on Bronze has two mistakes: "Lucy Blues" and front cover calling the lp only " Very 'Eavy"

HaHa! HaHa!
I laid a trap for Karnevil and he fell right into it.
Above I stated: "German press on Bronze has two mistakes: "Lucy Blues" and front cover calling the lp only " Very 'Eavy"
WRONG.
"Lucy Blues" IS the original track name. This beyond a shadow of doubt.
(But on Israeli press you see the error, "Lucy's Blues".)
Ha!Ha! Warning to all wannabes: You must practice due diligence when dealing with a PwogMasterman.

Was no talk abart PVC quality whatsoever. But I gib you the nod (out of gentlemanly graciousness) and agree Limey vinyl purer than Leutonian.
As to that shoite tank coverart, Leutonian group Christmas did one alser and alser that were wank. (As is the Birfcontrol one.) Oh aye - Leutonians did cormbwine harvester coverart for Traffick lp. Named it "Reaping".
Coiling Snake-dragon monster wif mad glaring eyes beats out tank any day of the week.

Snake Dragon cover were first LP not 'SALISBURY' wasn't a snake either more like a mad staring millipede with wings. Did not like foreign pressings of UK albums not only because of the vinyl and cover quality but they will have been pressed from a copy of the finished tape. Its common knowledge when you copy an analogue tape to another its degraded slightly hence the best 1st issue pressings were from the country of origin.
Who gives a crap anyway those days are gone . Cost & deterioration put pay. Now you buy LP's from Digital source worked on from the original masters sadly put up with what is available cover details wise. Digital the dark destroyer.
