Snake Dragon cover were first LP not 'SALISBURY' wasn't a snake either more like a mad staring millipede with wings. Did not like foreign pressings of UK albums not only because of the vinyl and cover quality but they will have been pressed from a copy of the finished tape. Its common knowledge when you copy an analogue tape to another its degraded slightly hence the best 1st issue pressings were from the country of origin. Who gives a crap anyway those days are gone . Cost & deterioration put pay. Now you buy LP's from Digital source worked on from the original masters sadly put up with what is available cover details wise. Digital the dark destroyer. This digital sourcing really bugs me. In most cases the original tapes exist and there are plenty of AAA cutting facilities around. I think most people would pay a few quid more for a AAA reissue with nice packaging. The major labels can do them cheaper than audiophile labels who have to pay high licensing fees. It's pure laziness and caters to the ignorant who just want it on vinyl. Unfortunately originals are becoming just too pricey and with rock records it's very hard to find mint copies. Maybe the success of the Blue Note Jazz reissues may prompt Universal to do something similar with rock music. Frankly I thought original Black Sabbath and Uriah Heap were too expensive 15 years ago before the vinyl boom got underway. Saw a copy of solid triangle DSOTM on Ebay for over £1800 yesterday but he is open to offers and it is really mint, LOL. It's why I am happy to occasionally pay £60 - £180 for Mo-Fi and Analog Productions reissues, but they don't get tapes these days from UK bands. Aqualung UHQR used the old Classic Records stampers. Don't remember them doing much prog other than The Classic Records Genesis titles more than 12 years ago now. The Classic Records Genesis, Who and Zeppelin titles sold for £25 which is about the price of a digital sourced disc pressed at GZ or Optimal now. Note prices are going up a lot and more than general inflation. Speakers Corner titles just gone up from £27 to £35 through retailers.

Yes they do need to get their act together with laziness & more detail should be noted when reproducing those fancy old 1st issue covers & inners, it really is attractive to the buyer & like i said earlier £22 or £25 they will still sell. so why not add a bit of quality. These 2015 URIAH HEEP albums have been an utter nightmare. Click & pops. My third copy of "MAGICIANS BIRTHDAY" should be here Sunday, im praying this one is ok. Had to swap all the others at least twice.
They also need to stop doing stupid things like producing expanded versions of original albums on Vinyl, they should be pressed in the original Format. Leave all that expanded bull shit to CD. Ive had to leave LED ZEPPELIN 'THE SONG REMAINS THE SAME' because its in a 4LP guise, same with DEEP PURPLE 'CONCERTO FOR GROUP & ORCHESTRA' in a 3LP. Not only do i not want them like that i refuse to pay the prices.
Audiophile US pressing are a total & utter No with me on many levels.

URIAH HEEP - MAGICIANS BIRTHDAY. This is the third replacement & this is faulty as well. These URIAH 2015 pressings sound good but they beyond a nightmare. They need to be taking greater care in pressing plants.

50th Anniversary reissue of VAN DER GRAAF GENERATOR "PEOPLE YOU WERE GOING TO"/"FIREBRAND" 7" Single. An original 1969 Polydror pressing would be not only rare as hens teeth but at a guess would set you back £300/£400.

Another Minto 1st issue arrived this morning, Shame about the price sticker but it will have to stay, being a matt cover removal with either tear it or leave a glue stain. . FOCUS - HAMBURGER CONCERTO
