You look for?
I don't obsess about what constitutes True Prog in my little world anymore, i just listen these days, but back when i was a Progger Obsessive it would be early band on the verg of crossover more than anything but on the other end tittering on the verg of too much progression. Example: My idea of what constitutes real prog for me which has all the qualities is say the period: GENESIS 'TRESSPASS'/'NURSERY CRYME' where as in reflection to 'SELLING ENGLAND'/'LAMBS' would kinda be going a bit too much out of my comfort Zone, As would say YES 'THE YES ALBUM' [3rd LP]/'FRAGILE' in comparison to 'TOPOGRAPHIC OCEANS'
You may noticed i missed out GENESIS 'FOXTROT' & YES 'CLOSE TO THE EDGE' in between those comparisson examples, that is because they were to very slight Progression within those two LP the bands exibited .
This is my reasoning for the constand sectioning via Timelines, you might have head me binding on all the time about 1969-1972 cut off.
Its all old hat now, Done my time at the Progressive clinic for the mentally insaine. Ive been cured Bruvver.

Well old bean, old son, logic would have it that the more Bruchladditch yew guzzle the PROGRESSIVELY more shit-arsed you gets.
Will that do?

As to NURSERY CRYME, wot you make of the pop ballad "For Absent Friends" or the pubfolk sound of "Harold The Barrel"?
