No good trying to tempt me with a DC motor, AC or nothing. Like i said Michell knew haw to use a small AC Sync motor correctly

They wow'd a lot though back then and it was audible even to me (different decks set up by different people). The twin belt models were better, but they've moved on from that so maybe have a better belt now?

Technics are instant start and so are the Hanpin OEM direct drives.

Aye the way to do it belt around the main platter. All the same that deck looks to me like something youd pay £300 for. I think its the arm thats giving me that impression

I watched a video by that Chinese guy who always buys stuff. It looked far better in close-up than I’d expected. The plinth is constrained layer damping too. That said, it still seems a bit expensive, but it’s better than I thought it was. I will see if I can find the video.

Everything's spoiled by the flexible lid, tacky feel and a tonearm that looks as if it has misaligned (as many are these days) non-offset vertical bearings using a rod in ptfe sleeve or something that looks similar - I could be totally wrong here, but it's something Garrard and maybe BSR did in a crude fashion fifty years ago in their cheapest changers..
