Without a doubt it has to be 'Revolver'. Absolutely groundbreaking and incredible material, and hard to believe that it was released in 1966.
I win.

MAGICAL MYSTERY TOUR is not actually a proper album, certainly no such album released in the UK originally, it was a 7" double EP set of sountracks, it was Capitol in USA that made up the album with added singles tracks. which eventually saw a UK release in the mid 70's

MAGICAL MYSTERY TOUR is not actually a proper album, certainly no such album released in the UK originally, it was a 7" double EP set of sountracks, it was Capitol in USA that made up the album with added singles tracks. which eventually saw a UK release in the mid 70's I was given the two ep's (sans sleeve) as a kid by my friendly record shop (the sleeve probably went in the window display) and I bought the LP ten years later. The mix of Strawberry Fields is slightly different and from memory, the mixes of Hello Goodbye and so on are stereo ones (as a purist, you may not like them for all I know). I like the songs, so for me it's a valid LP (long player) even if it's not strictly so.
When we moved here, i lent a friend my CD of Sgt Pepper and don't think I ever got it back I should replace it really despite having the remastered version on a FLAC file. Apparently the analogue master originally used as supposedly a safety copy as the original was worn out (third hand tale that, so may be bollocks), but the first issue CD was still better than the LP I have, especially at side end where the vinyl rolls off the highs...

All The Beatles Tapes are supposed to be in good shape. Unfortunately apart from the 2014 Mono LPs they insisted on digitising them and fixing certain things that didn't need fixing. I think I only have the 1987 Abbey Road on CD but have had quite a few vinyl versions. I think the best varies from time to time but maybe between Revolver and Abbey Road.

Tbh all this BEATLES malarky get on my tits. Continously flogging them to death. You should visit Hoffman forum to witness flogging Beatles to death. Though I have a stack of their records I rarely listen to them. Abbey Road would get most plays as being an almost modern recording (8 track), it has the most hi fidelity sound.

Not for me guv. The original stoned out glory is mine, even remixed... The altered voice, the strings and horns, Ringo's steady and unique simple drumming that just carries you along and the random radio mixed in near the end - and all with a four track recorder... That's art

Tea Towels over the drum skins. They used to bounce tracks. Abbey were kinda a bit behind compared to Trident. Beatles did use Trident tho.
