I watched it because I’m a Grado fan. Not sure I learned anything new. Grados sound alive. Older Grados are more relaxed. Sennheisers and Audeze are dull as mud. Yeah I knew all that already. I agree though, in that the Grado hemp do look nice.

Don't forget that he worked as a Hi-Fi salesman years ago. You can sort of sense a little sales pitch vibe from him. S.

I like that one. He’s not an expert to say the least and he makes a few dodgy assumptions, but he’s making the video because his hearts in the right place and he’s discovered something he’s passionate about. One thing I’ve always struggled with when it comes to bouncy decks is whether or not this affects tracking weight in play. I’ve never seen this mentioned anywhere but I’m assuming there is some (maybe microscopic) upward and downward motion when in play. After all that’s what the suspension is doing in converting vibration into vertical motion isn’t it? If it’s doing that, what happens to the arm as it’s going up and down? It can’t be maintaining even tracking because it will be increasing force on the downward motion and decreasing on upward motion. I’m sure Dave will know. I’m not an engineer so can only go off my layman’s knowledge. Whilst I want motor isolation, I prefer split plinth designs.

My father had a set of Wharfedale Linton Heritage Speakers before the lockdown. Guess it depends on the room etc. But they don't sound anything like Speakers costing 10 grand. These sound demo videos can be fun to watch. Never fully trust them though. Most of these guys tend to use the same songs, I've noticed. S. www.youtube.com/watch?v=6x-BKCaygzU&t=1232s

I’m getting an odd glitch with my iPad which is making some YouTubes unplayable. This one won’t currently play
